Omega Complex Novel (Completed) - Chapter 43
First, they said it was obvious I was an Omega, and now they’re saying it’s obvious just by looking at me wearing a turtleneck. I thought it was better than a bandage, but to this quick-witted guy, it seemed to be the same thing. Well, it was obvious what would happen after an Omega in heat followed someone they liked.
“It’s polite to pretend not to notice such things.”
“When have I ever been the type to be polite?”
An awkward silence fell. More precisely, it was a silence that only I found awkward. Kim Dohyun opened his notebook with an unconcerned expression, and then, just as unconcerned, he spoke.
“Senior.”
Instead of answering, I turned my head to look at him. Scratch, scratch, the guy who was moving his hand continued in a calm voice.
“Choi Taegyeom senior, is he big?”
It was a completely unexpected question. Instantly, I recalled Choi Taegyeom’s ‘thing’ from yesterday. The large, fiercely erect object, unlike his handsome face.
“If he has that kind of physique and size too, he’d be really annoying.”
“……What are you talking about?”
Choi Taegyeom had a ‘thing’ that anyone would evaluate as ‘big.’ Even without a comparison, it was possible to judge whether it was big or small. Of course, that didn’t mean I could give Kim Dohyun a positive answer.
“That’s sexual harassment.”
So I answered awkwardly, but Kim Dohyun’s expression didn’t change. He just snorted, still with an indifferent gaze. His mouth was noticeably twisted.
“Can’t I just ask?”
“No, you can’t.”
This guy and I didn’t even match on basic points, let alone views on relationships. It was hard for me to understand how that could be just a simple question.
“If someone asked you if you were big……”
“I am big.”
“……”
Was this shamelessness or confidence? Since there was no way to confirm if it was true or not, I guess I had to consider it confidence. I wasn’t sure if this was a conversation to be had in a classroom in broad daylight, though.
“……If you’re curious, ask Choi Taegyeom.”
A sigh escaped from deep within my throat. Being with Kim Dohyun felt like my energy was draining with every word. Perhaps it was because he kept saying such unexpected things. I couldn’t relax my guard even for a moment.
“It’s spread around school.”
Kim Dohyun naturally changed the subject. It wasn’t because I found this topic burdensome, but rather he seemed to be blurting out whatever he wanted to say without much order. Before I could even ask what he meant, he began to explain calmly.
“They say some Omega went into heat, and some Alpha took them away. And apparently, that Alpha was Choi Taegyeom senior, so the kids are going crazy.”
I had been too flustered to remember. The fact that Choi Taegyeom had carried me on his back from the club room to my house. An Omega in heat and an Alpha carrying such an Omega on his back. It must have looked strange to others, that thought only just occurred to me.
“You know, right? Choi Taegyeom senior is famous.”
Of course, I knew. I had experienced it firsthand several times. At the freshman welcoming party, and when talking with club members in the club room. I couldn’t forget the evaluations of Choi Taegyeom mentioned each time. It was no wonder the rumor spread, as he was already someone who drew attention, and then he even carried someone on his back.
“And that senior is an Omega too……”
Kim Dohyun couldn’t finish his sentence. Just then, the sound of someone talking loudly from outside the classroom was heard. Exactly, it was the content of the rumor Kim Dohyun was talking about.
“He carried an Omega in heat?”
The words ‘Omega in heat’ pierced my ears. I tried to ignore it, letting it pass through my other ear, but the subsequent voices were also too clearly audible.
“You know, that really handsome Alpha in Business Admin.”
Business Administration, and Alpha. Just two words, and it was Choi Taegyeom. If you added the descriptive ‘handsome,’ there was no need to think further. The timing was so perfect it felt like someone had orchestrated it.
“Yesterday, that senior carried some Omega on his back. Skipped all his afternoon classes.”
Twitch, my shoulder moved. I didn’t have a hobby of eavesdropping on others, but because of the topic, my mind kept getting drawn in. No, even if I tried to ignore it, the voices echoing in the hallway were too clear. This is how rumors spread, I realized it firsthand.
“Oh my gosh, why? Didn’t that senior dislike Omegas?”
“I don’t know. My friend said the pheromones from the heat cycle were no joke.”
Kim Dohyun shrugged his shoulders and lowered the corners of his mouth. He also muttered ‘See?’ in a voice barely audible. I couldn’t bring myself to look at Kim Dohyun, so I dry-washed my face and turned my gaze to my notebook.
“That’s amazing. Why did he take her?”
“Hey, it’s obvious what you do when you take an Omega.”
Hehehe, I heard laughter. There was no malice, but that didn’t mean I wasn’t upset. Why would it matter so much who someone carries on their back, or what they do afterward? There are always some people who feel relieved only after spreading such cheap speculation.
“So the Business Admin heartthrob is an Alpha after all.”
Their nonsense continued, saying things like Alphas can’t help it, or even though he’s an Alpha, he can’t overcome his instincts. Ignoring it only worked for so long; the voices echoing in the hallway, and Kim Dohyun’s gaze, all felt uncomfortably burdensome.
“But who is that Omega?”
Normally, I would have ignored it, pretending not to know. No, at least if they were only talking about me and not Choi Taegyeom, I would have. But thinking that Choi Taegyeom was also hearing such things, a faint irritation began to rise.
“I heard a rumor about that too, they say it’s a senior from our department.”
So they were juniors from our department.
‘And that senior is an Omega too……’
I understood the rest of what Kim Dohyun was trying to say. No, in fact, I had already known it from the messages left on my phone. Countless messages had come from classmates whose names I only knew, asking if it was true I was an Omega.
I guessed someone must have seen my face while I was being carried. No, anyone who knew me would have realized it was me just by my clothes. Naturally, it was clear that the rumor of who the Omega Choi Taegyeom carried had spread by word of mouth.
“Really? Who?”
“You know, the senior who wore a hat at the freshman welcoming party.”
