Lick Me Up If You Can Novel (Completed) - Chapter 66
When he returned home, Koi saw the lights on in the motorhome and instantly gasped. Someone was inside. Of course, there was only one person it could be. His father was waiting for him.
Gulp, he audibly swallowed his dry saliva. Koi barely managed to suppress the urge to turn around and run away. He had to face it someday anyway. It would be fine if his father hadn’t been drinking. After his mother left, he spent almost every day with alcohol, and even when he was sober, he never spoke to Koi. He always stared blankly into space before leaving the house, and usually returned drunk.
For a while after his mother first left, his father would hit Koi whenever he caught sight of him. Koi always avoided his father, and there were countless times he spent outside, enduring the cold dew, until his father got drunk and collapsed into sleep. After a few years of this, his father seemed to get somewhat used to it and gradually began to ignore Koi’s existence. And even when he was drunk, if Koi wasn’t in his sight, he treated him as if he wasn’t there, which, from Koi’s perspective, was better. No one liked being hit.
When was the last time he was hit?
Koi suddenly recalled. Come to think of it, it had been quite a while. Around this time, his father’s bad habit of hitting would surely resurface. If he was drunk, it would definitely happen.
What should he do?
He was fidgeting, unable to go inside or run away, when suddenly the door burst open. Hiccup, Koi unconsciously held his breath, and he came face to face with his father, who had emerged from inside.
“…Koi!”
With a pale face, his father was the first to call his name. Koi froze, unable to move, as his father rushed out.
“Ah!”
His father roughly grabbed Koi’s arm, making Koi cry out. His father pulled him closer, held his body with both hands, and shouted violently.
“You stupid brat! Where did you go to stay out all night?!”
Koi’s eyes widened in surprise. His father wasn’t drunk. It had been a very long time since he had spoken to him—or rather, yelled at him—with such clear pronunciation while sober.
But that wasn’t all. His father held Koi and began sniffing around his body, pressing his nose here and there. With his face twisted in a fierce scowl, Koi had no choice but to let him do as he pleased.
“Damn it, what is this sweet smell? All over your body… Is this that bastard’s pheromone smell?”
His father, who had asked roughly, soon gritted his teeth. He realized his son couldn’t smell. He immediately dragged Koi inside and shoved him into the cramped shower stall.
“Hurry up and wash! Right now! Wash off all that disgusting pheromone!”
His father demonstratively turned on the shower, and cold water suddenly poured down on Koi’s head. Koi, flustered, hastily tried to take off his clothes but then spotted the fierce teeth marks remaining on his chest. It wasn’t just there. Parts of his body hidden by his clothes were mottled. Koi, embarrassed, quickly pulled his clothes back down and looked back at his father.
“Ah, Father, um, I’ll wash up and come out… Could you get me some clothes, please?”
Seeing him busily adjusting the faucet as if controlling the temperature, his father turned around and quickly brought his usual worn-out clothes.
“You must soap yourself at least three times.”
His father threatened him, then thankfully closed the shower door and retreated. Only then did Koi let out a sigh of relief and began washing his entire body. Compared to Ashley’s mansion, this shower facility was incredibly shabby and dirty, but he tried not to compare and quickly washed himself as his father had instructed.
Koi awkwardly stared at the floor, not knowing what to do in the tense atmosphere. He had been led by his father to sit opposite him at a small table, but his father remained silent. There was no usual smell of alcohol. Koi was surprised that he was home at this hour. He was usually working or drinking at this time, but here he was, soberly waiting for him.
What does he want to talk about?
Koi’s heart felt like it would burst from anxiety and tension. Ashley had said he would contact them, but the school’s reaction and his father’s reaction would naturally be different. It wasn’t even clear whether he’d been out for three or four days, and if his parents only received one phone call during that time, and that too through someone else, any parent would naturally be angry.
That is, assuming his father still considered him his son.
Just as he thought that to himself, his father suddenly spoke.
“Koi.”
“Yes, yes.”
He answered hastily, and his father let out a short sigh before closing his mouth again. This was the first time his father had been like this. Koi couldn’t predict what would happen next, so he just waited for him to speak. When he opened his mouth again, his voice was even more subdued.
“Koi, did you take any medicine just now?”
“Medicine? What… I didn’t take anything.”
He hastily shook his head, and his father, with a suspicious gaze, spoke again.
“Like, an inhibitor.”
“No… I haven’t even presented! You already know that.”
He said, feeling somewhat wronged, and his father stared at him in silence for a moment before finally letting out a long sigh. Koi watched with mixed feelings as he covered his face with both hands and leaned on the table. He had no idea what attitude he should take, when his father spoke.
“I was worried that you might have presented, caught up in that….”
Another trembling sigh followed. Only then did Koi vaguely understand the cause of his anxiety. In short, he was worried that Koi might have become an Omega. It was unimaginable that his father would worry about him, though.
“It’s okay, I can’t smell anyway…”
He hadn’t even considered that Ashley’s pheromone scent would have clung to his entire body. Ashley had just presented, so he wouldn’t have inhibitors, and it would be natural for him not to be able to control his scent.
Just as he thought that far, his father spoke.
“If he were a normal Alpha or Omega, I wouldn’t have thought it was so dangerous. But that kid presented as an extreme Alpha, didn’t he?”
“What?”
He asked back in surprise, and his father, looking surprised himself, widened his eyes.
“You didn’t know? At all?”
“Uh… no…”
An extreme Alpha, he couldn’t have imagined it. He thought he was just a normal Alpha or Omega.
No, even if he were an Alpha or Omega, he wouldn’t be normal.
Koi corrected his thoughts and managed to form a question in his confused mind.
“Really? How do you know that?”
“That woman said it, that guy’s father’s secretary.”
His father gnashed his teeth and spat out.
“She said that the young master presented as an extreme Alpha, and you were with him the whole time he was presenting, so there was almost a big accident.”
“Uh…”
Koi was speechless and just mumbled blankly. Compared to regular Alphas or Omegas, extreme Alphas and Omegas are very few and rare, so many people never encounter them in their lives. Therefore, they weren’t heavily covered in the curriculum, and Koi also thought he would never have to meet them. Many extreme Alphas are celebrities, so you often see their faces on TV, but how often would you encounter them in daily life?
But it had happened in reality. Moreover, he was with him at the moment of his presentation.
“The amount of pheromones must have been enormous.”
His father sighed again, adding with a sense of relief.
“It’s truly a miracle that you weren’t affected. Thank goodness, thank goodness…”
Just as Koi felt a little relieved by his father’s unusually calm voice, his attitude suddenly changed again.
“Don’t ever meet that kid again.”
“What?”
When Koi unconsciously asked back, his father shouted with a ferocious intensity, raising his voice even higher.
“Do you know how hard it is for Alphas and Omegas to live? They go into heat constantly, and Omegas get pregnant on top of that! Imagine having a child and not even knowing whose it is, my god, and Alphas go around raping people during their heat, do you think you can handle something like that?!”
His father spat out the words quickly, as if disgusted. Seeing Koi’s face turn pale, his father yelled.
“If you keep hanging around with that bastard, you’ll definitely present or mutate someday. It’ll be too late to regret it then! Cut ties with that bastard right now, understand? Remember my words! Otherwise, you’ll definitely regret it!”
His father, having delivered his final warning, gasped for breath and stormed out. Koi sat blankly in his spot, staring in the direction his father had gone, then belatedly scrambled to his feet. He had to hide the clothes Ashley had bought him. It was clear his father would make a huge fuss if he found out.
He quickly pulled a box from under the bed and was putting the new clothes among the previously gifted ones when his phone suddenly chimed. Koi’s face unconsciously crumbled as he checked the screen. It was Ashley.
[I’m home now. Have a good dream. See you tomorrow.]
Koi hastily replied, [Okay, see you tomorrow], and waited for a moment. Only after the ‘unread’ mark disappeared did a smile finally appear on his face.
You know nothing about Alphas or Omegas!
His father’s words suddenly came to mind. Koi sat down for a moment, lost in thought.
If I had presented then, what would it have been like?
