Lick Me Up If You Can Novel (Completed) - Chapter 201
Calm down. It’s not certain yet.
Returning home, Koi, now alone, sat on his bed, his mind surprisingly clear as he pondered. Angel’s words were too unrealistic, and it was hard to believe everything.
Maybe he was a strange person…
The thought suddenly surfaced, and Koi hastily shook his head, apologizing to Angel. How displeased would Angel be if he knew Koi entertained such rude thoughts? Remembering the inexplicable trust and intimacy he felt towards him, Koi fell back into thought.
What if… just what if.
What if I really was an Omega…
What if that was my presentation back then?
Isn’t it entirely possible that I might have been emitting pheromones without even knowing it?
He cautiously imagined it. If that were the case, Ash would have known Koi was an Omega. But then, why hadn’t he said anything until now? Or perhaps Ash didn’t know either? Because I concealed my pheromones?
“Even if you’re not conscious of it, you can instinctively hide your pheromones.”
If that were the case, then of course he wouldn’t know. That is, if I really am an Extreme Omega.
He was dumbfounded, but there were no holes in Angel’s words. That was the only answer that fit his situation.
It would have been so simple if I could smell.
Koi felt resentful of himself, but nothing would change. After sitting there for a moment, he soothed his confused mind and turned his thoughts in another direction.
If I’m an Omega, what happens with Ash?
Because he had always thought of himself as a Beta, there was an unavoidable distance between them. No matter how hard a Beta tried, a wall would inevitably form with Alphas or Omegas, and he and Ash had drifted apart several times because of it.
But if I say I’m an Omega…
Ash would be as flustered and surprised as I am.
For a moment, fear surged, but then another memory blocked it.
Ash said he loved me.
Thinking negatively unconditionally was his bad habit. Ash had told Koi he loved him so many times, and being this anxious was no different from doubting Ash’s feelings.
How hurt I was when my love was doubted. I’m doing the same thing to Ash.
Scolding himself, he tried to change his thoughts to a positive direction.
He might even be happy.
A cautious hope bloomed in a corner of his heart. Until now, Koi’s love for him had been denied because he hadn’t presented. But now that he might be an Omega, no one would be able to disparage his feelings.
It would be much better for Ash too, if I were an Omega rather than a Beta.
At the very least, when his rut came, he wouldn’t have to seek out someone else. Now, Koi would be able to accept him.
His heart felt like it would burst imagining Ash’s happiness. Calm down, I need to confirm it first. Koi took a deep breath, soothing himself. If Angel’s words were true, his heat cycle would come soon. It wouldn’t be too late to think after that. He would tell Ash once it was certain. It wouldn’t be too late to worry about Ash’s reaction then.
When would ‘soon’ be…?
Lost in thought, his eyes soon closed, and before he knew it, he had fallen asleep.
Suddenly, he felt a presence and woke up. Outside, darkness had already fallen. Koi blinked several times while lying down and looked around, but there was no one in the room. He hesitated for a moment, then got out of bed and headed outside.
“Ash?”
Passing through the brightly lit living room and going to the kitchen, as expected, Ash was standing alone in the kitchen. He seemed lost in thought, staring at one spot.
Koi noticed a half-empty whiskey glass in front of him and turned his gaze back to Ash’s face. Only then did Ash look back at Koi. Their eyes met, and Ash spoke first.
“You’re awake?”
From his quiet tone, Koi realized that Ash had seen him sleeping and left. The presence he had felt was Ash’s. Feeling somewhat sorry, Koi spoke this time.
“Why didn’t you wake me? Have you had dinner?”
“Don’t worry about it. Why don’t you sleep more if you’re tired?”
Ash’s tone was no different from usual, but Koi felt a strange sense of unease. “No,” he replied cautiously.
“I slept enough. I’m fine now… Hey, if you haven’t eaten yet, shall we eat together? Should I order something?”
He turned to call the front desk, and at that moment, Ash spoke.
“You went out earlier, didn’t you?”
“Huh? Oh… yes.”
Did the doorman tell him? Koi felt a strange sensation and replied.
“I just went out for some air. I came back quickly, but I was so tired… I’m sorry I fell asleep first.”
What should he say if Ash asked about Angel? He was secretly nervous, but surprisingly, Ash asked a completely different question.
“Nothing happened?”
“Nothing.”
At Koi’s answer, Ash stared intently at his face without a word. Koi felt even more uncomfortable under his gaze, which seemed to be trying to dig something out.
Was he waiting for Koi to tell him about Angel?
But the words wouldn’t come out easily. The promise he made with Angel was stopping him. He had a premonition that talking about him wouldn’t be good, so he couldn’t open his mouth easily. Then, Ash raised the glass to his lips. He gulped down the remaining whiskey in one go, then frowned and set the empty glass down.
“…Koi.”
“Uh, yes.”
After a long silence, Ash finally spoke. Koi, tense, hastily replied, and Ash seemed to think for a moment before finally trying to say something. But before the sound could even leave his mouth, just as he was about to move his lips, the intercom suddenly rang.
They both froze for a moment, looking at each other. Neither moved. It seemed as if the bell would stop if they left it, but it didn’t. Hearing the bell, which had briefly stopped, ring again, Ash let out a low curse, then moved towards the intercom.
“Ah, I apologize for the late hour, Mr. Miller.”
Ash listened silently as the doorman spoke in a flustered voice from the other side. Ash’s voice reached Koi’s ears as he watched anxiously.
“…A visitor? At this hour?”
Ash glanced at the wall clock and paused. After a moment of silence, he spoke.
“Let them in.”
The call soon ended. Koi looked at Ash’s back and cautiously spoke.
“Um, Ash. It seems like we have a visitor, so I’ll just go to my room…”
“Wait.”
Ash stopped Koi, who was about to move. To Koi, who had stopped in surprise, Ash continued.
“Stay right there. They’re your guest too.”
“Huh…?”
It was when he was bewildered by the unexpected words. The faint sound of the elevator arriving could be heard. The private elevator had returned with a guest.
Ash simply operated the sensor on the wall, disarming the security of the inner door. Immediately, the door was violently thrown open, followed by heavy footsteps.
Somehow, he had a bad feeling. Koi stood rooted to the spot, shrinking his shoulders and staring at one place. Ash also looked in the same direction, waiting for the approaching visitor.
The owner of the footsteps didn’t take long to appear. With large strides, he swiftly crossed the living room and reached the kitchen where Ash and Koi were waiting. Upon seeing them, he stopped. Koi froze in shock at the sight of the man standing at the kitchen entrance.
As tall as Ash, he was a massive man with thick bones and large muscles. The vest worn over his white shirt was stretched taut as if it would burst, further accentuating his chest muscles. With dark hair, a sharp nose, and stubbornly closed lips, the man was overwhelmingly intimidating, but what surprised Koi was something else.
Purple eyes.
He couldn’t smell pheromones, but that alone was enough. It was the first time Koi had seen an Extreme Alpha other than Ash, and he froze in shock.
Because Ash had always been gentle with Koi, he had no idea what kind of beings Extreme Alphas were. It was then that the expressions people like Ariel used to make when talking about Ash suddenly came to mind.
He noticed something the man was holding in his hand. As he realized it was a person, and somehow familiar, the man threw him to the floor.
“Ugh!”
The slender body that collapsed with a scream was definitely someone he knew. Then, Koi stopped breathing. The man, who had barely managed to lift his head, met his eyes.
And Koi could clearly see. Disheveled silver hair, vividly shining green eyes, and slightly parted crimson lips.
It was Angel.
