Lick Me Up If You Can Novel (Completed) - Chapter 200
Angel.
What’s his real name? The thought suddenly crossed his mind, but Koi didn’t ask. It was such a fitting name that he couldn’t imagine anything else. Instead of asking his real name, he mumbled “Angel” to himself. Angel smiled brightly at him, then turned around.
He nonchalantly put a cigarette in his mouth and lit it, then began to walk first, and Koi followed him from behind. Everyone passing by turned to look at him or stared blankly. Wearing a long coat and boots, he was slightly shorter than Koi but still tall, and his body was slender, making him look like a model.
The street they were walking on was no different from yesterday, but his presence easily transformed the ordinary into the extraordinary. Watching him walk as lightly as air, Koi still felt bewildered. Koi only snapped out of it when he suddenly realized they had walked quite a distance.
“Um, just a moment.”
When he bravely spoke, Angel stopped and turned to look at him. Koi’s heart sank unnecessarily, but he tried to remain calm and continued.
“We seem to have walked quite a bit… Where are we going? It feels like we’re going too far.”
“Why? Do you have a reason to go back urgently?”
Angel asked gently. When Koi replied that it wasn’t that, he smiled and turned his head.
“Then it’s okay to walk a bit more, isn’t it? It’s been a while since I’ve been out.”
“Uh…”
Koi, flustered, soon nodded. Ashley wouldn’t be back for a long time. He thought this would be better than just lounging around. Thinking about it, it had been quite a while since he had walked aimlessly like this.
The two started walking again, and it wasn’t long before Angel spoke.
“How long has it been since you’ve been out? Two months for me.”
“Two months?”
Koi repeated his words in surprise. Angel then smiled faintly and replied nonchalantly.
“Everyone’s desperate to lock me up, you see. There are four people following us right now. And that guy must have received all the reports, so he’s probably flying here in a helicopter by now? Thinking about what kind of scoundrel I’m walking with, a man.”
“Lock you up?”
All of Angel’s words were surprising, but the most bewildering part was that. Koi, who had unconsciously looked behind him, quickly turned his gaze back to Angel and asked.
“Are, are you okay? Instead of doing this, shouldn’t you call the police…?”
“Don’t worry. There’s no one in the world who can dare to imprison me.”
Angel said after exhaling cigarette smoke.
“My business here is almost done, so I should be leaving soon. Time’s up.”
He swept his long hair back from his forehead and looked up at Koi, speaking.
“Next time we meet, we’ll be strangers, okay?”
Koi couldn’t answer readily at the unexpected words. To pretend not to know him—he didn’t know why, and he didn’t want to, but Angel’s attitude was firm.
“Promise me, you’ll never acknowledge me.”
“Quickly,” he urged. Koi had no choice but to nod and promise to do as he wished. Then Angel smiled faintly and suddenly tilted his head. His lips lightly touched, and to Koi, whose eyes widened in surprise, Angel said.
“Good boy.”
Angel turned and started walking again. Koi blankly touched his lips, where he had just been kissed, then hurriedly followed him. As they walked side by side, the gazes pouring on them felt intensely strong. But Angel walked on indifferently, looking straight ahead, as if such things were commonplace.
“Tell me about yourself. If you can’t smell, how have you been controlling your pheromones all this time? And no one knows you’re an Omega, right?”
Angel suddenly asked, and Koi hesitated before answering.
“Um… Yes.”
Of course. He didn’t even know himself. Koi, still feeling half-doubtful, continued.
“I, I don’t have a pheromone scent, do I…? But how do you know I’m an Omega…?”
“Extreme Omega.”
Angel corrected Koi’s words and added.
“A typical Omega wouldn’t feel this kind of bond. You felt it too, didn’t you? That’s why you stopped me, right?”
That was true, but for that to be the only reason seemed too flimsy. He needed objective evidence. To Koi’s words, Angel simply replied.
“You know too, don’t you? Omegas and Alphas generally have good looks. Someone like you could never be a Beta, could they?”
Occasionally, there were a very small number of people who were beautiful or handsome enough to be mistaken for Omegas or Alphas. But Koi had never thought of himself that way, so his words were just confusing. Moreover, the evidence was just his face? To Koi, who was still confused, Angel asserted.
“Trust me, I don’t kiss ugly people.”
“Uh… Yes.”
That was all he could say. So why didn’t Koi have a pheromone scent? Enough for everyone to think he was a Beta.
Because he’s an Extreme Omega.
If Angel was right, this also made sense. Extreme Omegas were the only species that could control their pheromones without medication. Extreme Alphas could also control pheromones, but it was only temporary, and prolonged use would damage the brain. But the case of Extreme Omegas was different. If they put their mind to it, they could hide their identity their entire lives.
Seeing Koi still confused, Angel asked.
“Have you ever felt heat or lethargy in your body? Like a cold, but different from a cold.”
Suddenly, he remembered a strange cold he had had before. When he honestly told him about it, Angel said nonchalantly.
“That was your presentation. Our presentation time isn’t fixed. So don’t worry about age.”
“That was my presentation?”
Koi repeated his words again in surprise. Angel flicked the ash from his half-smoked cigarette and spoke.
“It’s often the case when you present suddenly, after a shock or an emotional upheaval… Did something happen back then?”
<The day you looked at me like I was a bug?>
He suddenly remembered Ashley asking him the same question. Did Ashley notice? Maybe he had already released pheromones. If it’s true that I’m really an Extreme Omega…
Suddenly, Koi felt anxious. He still couldn’t fully believe it, but the “what if” anxiety gripped him.
“What’s wrong?”
Seeing Koi’s suddenly pale face, Angel frowned and asked. Koi quickly blinked and opened his mouth.
“Um, excuse me… I don’t have a pheromone scent, do I?”
He had asked before, but Koi confirmed again. Angel answered without annoyance.
“Not at all.”
His anxiety was somewhat lessened, but he wasn’t completely relieved.
“If I don’t go into heat, will I never have a scent…?”
“Maybe, maybe not.”
Angel, who had spoken ambiguously, suddenly placed a hand on Koi’s forehead. Koi flinched but stayed still, and he soon took his hand away and brought the cigarette to his mouth.
“I thought your lips were warm earlier. You have a fever. You don’t have cold symptoms, do you? Are you feeling lethargic or tired more than usual? Or just generally sluggish?”
“Oh, yes. Since this morning, I’ve been a bit…”
“That’s because your heat cycle is coming soon.”
Angel, who gave a clear answer, added.
“When that comes, you’ll know you’re not a Beta.”
An even greater anxiety gripped him. Ashley’s words echoed in his mind again.
<I don’t need Omega pheromones.>
“Can I hide that pheromone scent when my heat cycle comes?”
He asked with hope, but the answer was negative.
“No, you can’t do that. Being an Extreme Omega doesn’t mean you’re omnipotent.”
Again, Angel continued without hesitation.
“If you want to hide it, you’ll have to hide alone somewhere no one knows about. It’ll be tough, though.”
“Th-then, how do I hide my pheromones normally? Can you tell me that?”
Koi was desperate. He didn’t know how he had hidden his pheromones until now, but if he really had become an Omega, he couldn’t imagine how Ashley would react.
Seeing Koi unable to hide his anxiety, Angel seemed to think for a moment, then spoke.
“The easiest way is… well, to give yourself a suggestion.”
“A suggestion?”
Angel nodded and explained.
“Think of it as a spell that prevents pheromones from coming out. If you repeat that, pheromones won’t leak.”
“…Is that possible?”
“Why don’t you try it?”
Angel, who had replied playfully to the half-doubting Koi, soon added in a cynical tone.
“Be careful, if that suggestion breaks, even the person you least want to might smell your pheromones.”
Koi could only stare at him, speechless. His head felt like it would explode.
