Lick Me Up If You Can Novel (Completed) - Chapter 114
Sometimes laughing and chatting aimlessly, the two walked together for a while.
Soon, the road disappeared from view, and overgrown grass and trees became increasingly abundant. There was no sound of even insects, let alone people, around them. After walking for a while over quiet, desolate, seemingly abandoned land where there was no proper path, Koi finally stopped.
A chilling wind swept through the surroundings. Ashley stopped walking after Koi and looked at the motorhome standing a few steps away.
Koi couldn’t bring himself to look up at his face, and he desperately moved his parched mouth, forcing saliva to wet his throat. Trying to sound as casual as possible, Koi opened his mouth.
“The house is a bit small, isn’t it?”
He was anxious, wondering if his voice was trembling. What was Ashley thinking?
Mustering all his courage, Koi lifted his head. He squeezed the hand that wasn’t holding Ashley’s and looked up at him. Ashley, who had been silent until then, lowered his gaze.
The sun had already set, and the moon, which had taken its place, illuminated them brightly. Koi could clearly see Ashley’s face in the bright moonlight. He smiled at Koi, just like always.
“Then we should part ways here today.”
“Uh… uh.”
Koi stammered, his face bewildered by the unexpectedly normal reaction. Ashley set the bicycle he had been carrying on his shoulder down on the ground and stood facing Koi.
“I don’t want to part.”
To him, who spoke with a bitter smile, Koi also hesitated and replied.
“Me, me too.”
Ashley smiled again, then lowered his head. Koi, without thinking, lifted his chin and closed his eyes. Ashley’s arm naturally wrapped around his waist, pulling him close, and they hugged each other tightly, their lips meeting.
Koi felt his waist melt at the skillful touch of Ashley’s tongue gently caressing the inside of his mouth. As he tried his best to follow his movements, he felt Ashley’s lips, pressed against his, curve into a smile. He felt embarrassed by his clumsiness and tried to pull back, but Ashley held him even tighter.
“It’s okay, Koi. You did very well.”
Ashley playfully kissed the tip of Koi’s nose and smiled. Koi blushed and smiled shyly, confirming that he wasn’t teasing him at all. Seeing his face, Ashley briefly kissed Koi’s lips again, then let him go.
“Go on in, Koi. You need to wash off the pheromones.”
“Ah, yeah.”
Ashley’s pheromones must have been all over his body. Thinking that he had to wash and do laundry before his father returned, Koi suppressed his regret and turned away first.
“Then, see you tomorrow.”
“Okay. I’ll pick you up.”
Ashley replied to Koi’s greeting. And he hastily leaned his bicycle against the motorhome and watched Koi’s back as he opened the door. Before closing the door, Koi looked back at Ashley. Ashley had one hand in his pants pocket and waved with the other, smiling. Koi stood there, hesitating for a moment, looking at Ashley.
I don’t want to part.
Ashley’s feelings were the same, so it was obvious what he was thinking, but he couldn’t prolong it.
“Go in.”
When Ashley said it again, Koi finally, reluctantly, waved back and closed the motorhome door.
…Haa.
Now alone, Koi exhaled the breath he had been holding all at once and relaxed his shoulders. Ashley had taken it so casually that Koi felt ridiculous for having hidden and concealed himself all this time.
Ash isn’t that kind of person.
How disrespectful it was to imagine that he might be disappointed or dislike Koi for no reason. Thinking that, he even felt sorry for Ashley.
But there was no time to hesitate. His father would be home soon, and he had to shower and finish the laundry before that. Koi quickly turned on the light and moved quickly. Entering the small shower, he washed himself, wishing tomorrow would come soon so he could see Ashley again.
Ashley stood there for a while after the door closed, watching the motorhome. A moment later, the interior light came on, and a dim glow leaked through a broken window on one side. Seeing the shadows of the paper cups lined up on the windowsill, Ashley remembered what Koi had said.
Those are the dandelions.
He couldn’t help but smile when he imagined Koi carefully watering the paper cups. He couldn’t bring himself to leave, but if Koi’s father returned and encountered Ashley, it would be a huge problem. Ashley left before causing Koi any trouble, lost in serious thought.
To think Koi was living in a place like that.
Koi was right. It truly made Ashley’s worst imaginings seem ridiculous. He couldn’t imagine a person living in such a place. He felt he understood why Koi had so desperately tried to hide it from Ashley.
It wasn’t strange, was it?
He was still anxious, wondering if Koi had noticed his agitation. Remembering Koi’s reaction, it seemed he had managed to hide it well enough. In fact, he had struggled considerably to suppress the urge to snatch Koi away and return home right then and there. How could he live in a place like this? He wanted to ask, do you even have your own room, how can such a small, dilapidated motorhome be a home?
He had many things he wanted to say, but he managed to hold back. Koi, who had been so embarrassed and tried to hide it, had bravely revealed a part of himself. If Ashley had made a fuss and reacted strongly there, he would surely have been hurt.
But deep down, he couldn’t bear the thought of his precious Koi living so shabbily in such impoverished circumstances. The dilapidated motorhome, worth less than his own car, kept flickering before his eyes. He felt so sorry for Koi, but it made him think it was barely better than being homeless.
<You should have just played with something like that and then thrown it away.>
Dominique Miller’s cold voice brushed past his ears. Ashley understood why he had despised Koi so much. He must have known about Koi’s circumstances. When he presented, his secretary must have met Koi’s father to resolve the issue and reported everything without omission.
That’s why he despised and insulted Koi so much.
<I didn’t give birth to you to mate with a mongrel.>
Ashley bit his lip and suppressed his anger. What was so great about money and family? He couldn’t tolerate Koi being treated like trash just for that. But what was even harder to bear was his own powerlessness.
<There’s nothing as foolish as believing teenage love will last forever.>
His secretary wasn’t wrong when she ridiculed him as a childish teenager. Look now. He couldn’t do anything, could he?
Ashley got into the car, which was bought with his father’s money, and slowly exhaled a boiling sigh.
The ring he had ordered in the East was still not finished. It took a long time to customize items after ordering them to one’s taste. It was common to wait for a year, or even several years. Ashley had asked for it to be ready by graduation, but now his thoughts had changed.
I will never use that man’s power for my wedding ring.
If it was an unavoidable situation, he couldn’t help it, but he wanted to get the ring with his own power as much as possible. And that was the right path. He could not give Koi a ring bought with the money of the man who called him a ‘mongrel dog.’ Never.
What kind of face would Koi make when he received the ring?
Just thinking about it made him feel at ease. Unconsciously, a loose smile spread across Ashley’s face, and confidence gradually revived within him.
I can go back.
He gripped the steering wheel, making a vow.
I can be like before again.
I’ll make it happen.
