Lick Me Up If You Can Novel (Completed) - Chapter 101
“The East Coast?”
Koi racked his brain, trying to recall, ‘Then how big is the time difference?’ As if reading his thoughts, Ashley spoke.
“Three hours ahead, that side.”
“…I see.”
Then phone calls wouldn’t be easy either. After all, with a time difference, calling at the other person’s convenient time wasn’t simple. A natural gloom settled over him, then Ashley abruptly asked.
“Koi, there’s something I’d like to propose.”
A proposal? Koi tilted his head, bewildered, and nodded.
“Uh, yeah. What is it?”
At Koi’s question, Ashley continued without hesitation.
“How about you quit your current part-time job and just work at my place from now on?”
“What?”
He was so startled that he unconsciously repeated the question, and Ashley kept talking.
“It’s like, we can’t meet on weekends because you have your part-time job… and we can’t even properly stick together at our school. I want to see you all day on weekends, but you’re working, so I can’t.”
Ashley’s sigh could be heard through the phone. Koi felt both sorry and pity for him, fidgeting and mumbling.
“That’s true, but… if I get paid while I’m with you, it’ll seem like I’m only meeting you for the money.”
“Of course, I’m not paying you for your company.”
Ashley retorted with a somewhat displeased tone. To a momentarily flustered Koi, he softened his voice and added.
“Come and do your work. I won’t disturb you until you’re done. Instead, once you’re finished, we can play right away. How about it?”
If it was like that, it made sense. In fact, after his current part-time job, there was too little time to meet Ashley. With only two or three hours at most, it was natural for Ashley to be dissatisfied.
“Um, then… let’s try it this time first…”
He didn’t even know what kind of work it was, or if he could do it properly, so he lacked the confidence to just say yes. When Koi spoke cautiously, Ashley immediately accepted.
“Good, then come starting this holiday. Is that okay?”
“Huh? Oh.”
Koi answered absentmindedly. This week? Then he would have to quit his current part-time job immediately.
It would be hard to find another job again…
His expression darkened for a moment, but he soon shook his head. Anyway, let’s try this job and then think about it.
“Yeah, I’ll do that.”
As Koi answered, Ashley’s reply soon flowed out.
“That’s a relief.”
Koi’s heart also warmed at the voice, which truly sounded relieved. He unconsciously smiled and asked.
“Do you like me working at your house?”
“Of course.”
Ashley soon added.
“I want you to be waiting for me at home when I return.”
At those words, Koi’s heart thumped and began to beat rapidly. ‘That sounds like we’re married…?’ he thought to himself, when Ashley laughed and said.
“Like newlyweds, right?”
Koi couldn’t even answer, only taking rough breaths. Ashley chuckled again.
“I love you, Koi.”
“Uh, uh-huh.”
With a flushed face, Koi confessed.
“I, I like you too.”
Ashley whispered in an even sweeter voice.
“I want to kiss you.”
At this rate, his heart might stop. Koi felt a sense of crisis and clutched his chest.
“Me, me too.”
Ashley laughed again, then softly murmured, “I love you.” This time, Koi took a deep breath and said clearly.
“I love you too.”
Usually, he would turn back several times on the way home because he didn’t want to part, but now he wanted to hang up the phone even less than before. Koi hesitated, unable to say goodbye. Ashley was the same, but reality didn’t leave them alone.
“I have to go now.”
Ashley said with a sigh. Koi listened blankly, then belatedly opened his eyes wide.
“Go? Already?”
Ashley gave a wry smile and said, “Yes.”
“I got a call three hours ago and I’m at the airport now. The plane will take off soon. They’re telling me to hang up quickly.”
The secretary, sitting in the seat across the aisle, looked at him. Ashley, who made his last call inside his father’s private jet, told Koi he loved him one more time, then ended the call.
Koi looked down at his phone for a moment, then pressed it tightly against his chest. As if Ashley’s breath still lingered there.
Ashley was the same. Even after hanging up, he kept looking down at his phone. He was trying hard to resist the urge to drop everything and run to Koi, when a flight attendant, who had been waiting for him to finish his call, spoke.
“Is there anything you need, Mr. Miller?”
To the flight attendant standing before him, Ashley asked for potato chips, then turned his gaze to the window. The plane was preparing for takeoff.
“Don’t worry about your friend’s matter. I will handle it well.”
At the secretary’s voice, Ashley glanced at her and said.
“Make sure the wages are paid properly. You know that.”
“Of course. Mr. Miller is never stingy with the amount for his employees.”
The secretary looked directly at him and added.
“As you know.”
Ashley turned his head without a word. The flight attendant placed the bowl of potato chips in front of him and returned to her seat. He thought the conversation was over, but unexpectedly, the secretary spoke.
“Indeed, he is Mr. Miller’s blood. He doesn’t move without compensation.”
He knew he couldn’t defy his father anyway. He had merely proposed a trivial deal, adding a small act of defiance and a will not to simply obey, and unexpectedly, his father accepted it. Ashley was curious about his father’s intentions, but since his own will was carried out, he dismissed it as irrelevant.
“That’s all I learned.”
At Ashley’s reply, the secretary let out a small laugh. Ignoring her as she quickly returned to her usual expressionless face, Ashley continued to gaze out the window.
Soon, the plane slowly began to move. A sense of sadness quickly settled over him, and he already missed Koi.
“Hoo-ah.”
Koi, who had scooped all the debris from the pool’s surface with a net, let out a deep breath and straightened his back. It felt like a long time had passed, but in reality, it hadn’t been long at all. This was all the work for today. Koi deliberately walked slowly around the pool, taking his time, and if even a tiny speck of dust caught his eye, he would push the net in. Of course, even doing that, only about an hour had passed when he finished.
To get so much money for just doing this.
Koi felt guilty anew. When he first did the work and received the money, he thought something was wrong. The time he worked was less than half of his previous part-time job, but his daily wage was three times higher. To give him so much money, something must definitely be wrong.
“No, that’s the correct amount.”
When Koi called the staff member who paid his wages, as Ashley had told him to, the person answered indifferently.
“I know the amount is small, but there’s nothing we can do since you don’t do much work. Next time Mr. Miller comes, ask him to increase your workload.”
“The amount is small? Oh, I’m sorry.”
Koi unconsciously raised his voice, then hastily apologized. It wasn’t a wrong payment. They really gave him this much. Moreover, it wasn’t because he was Ashley’s friend. Judging by the staff member’s attitude, this amount seemed to be what everyone working there received. He couldn’t believe it wasn’t even a lot.
So Ashley didn’t intentionally give me a lot of money.
Anyway, knowing that Ashley also paid him fairly for the work he did, Koi felt relieved. More than anything, he was grateful to Ashley and felt an even stronger desire to meet him soon.
I want to see him quickly.
With this money, not only his college re-examination but also his independence would be greatly helped. Koi began to work harder than before, even taking the initiative to do unassigned tasks. More than anything, he never missed cleaning Ashley’s room every day.
He’d want to rest in his room first when he returned.
Thinking that, Koi finished cleaning the pool, then went into the mansion, briefly washed his hands and feet, and headed for Ashley’s bedroom.
First, he dusted the bed, neatly arranged it, then picked up an ostrich feather duster and began dusting various pieces of furniture. Thinking that it was Ashley’s personal space, he felt even more attached and cleaned with more vigor than usual. His enthusiasm was so great that he was about to lift one leg to remove dust behind the side table.
“Ah, whoa!”
Suddenly, he lost his balance and the table wobbled. Koi hastily grabbed it, preventing it from falling, but the loosened drawer slid out. Koi, who had turned his head in surprise, froze his gaze. Inside the drawer, a pile of condoms was stacked.
“Oh…”
For a moment, his brain simply stopped. What did I just see? Koi froze, his eyes wide. He couldn’t imagine anyone buying so many condoms.
No, he thought Ashley might have condoms, but he never imagined it would be Ashley who had this many. With an amount that looked like at least several boxes, Koi, who had only ever bought one pack at most, couldn’t close his gaping mouth.
What are you going to use so many for?
The purpose was obvious. And the reason for keeping such things in a side table drawer was simple and natural. So that when the mood struck, he could act immediately.
Of course, that’s true, but.
With trembling hands, Koi picked up a condom and unconsciously covered his mouth with his other hand. It was a monstrous size, beyond imagination. He had never seen such a large condom. The largest size condom he had ever bought was like a baby compared to this.
“Hiek…”
He gasped, turning pale. Suddenly, his phone rang, and Koi hastily pulled it out, then was startled.
It was a call from Ashley.
