Kiss Me if You Can Novel Completed - Chapter 90 (End)
As he thought that, Chase suddenly pulled him into an embrace. Soon after, their lips met, and their tongues intertwined passionately. Rough breaths poured into Josh’s mouth, and he immediately felt pheromones filling his nostrils. Just as his mind instantly became hazy, Chase pulled away from his lips. He blinked, seeing Josh’s dazed face staring blankly at him.
He knew this face.
Chase let out a short gasp.
It’s the man from my dreams.
“It really was you.”
Chase whispered in a faintly trembling voice. He tried to kiss him again, but Chase overlooked the fact that there was a child between them.
“Waaaah…”
Pete, who had been caught in the middle and woken from his deep sleep, burst into tears again. Chase, flustered, quickly pulled back, and Josh burst out laughing.
“You’ll get used to it soon, the fact that you have a child.”
Josh kissed Chase, who was looking at Pete with an awkward expression. He lightly bit and released his lower lip, then touched his ear and said.
“This is also what you left behind at that time.”
Chase’s gaze fixed on that spot. Josh quietly continued.
“It was unexpected, but I’m grateful. Thanks to it, I got Pete… It’s all the happiness you gave me.”
“…”
“Now, I want to tell you too.”
Josh finally spoke a sentence he had never uttered in his countless relationships until now.
“Marry me, Chase.”
Chase’s eyes widened beyond measure. He covered his mouth with one hand and took a step back, as if he couldn’t believe it. Josh waited again until he accepted the shock. And after a shorter time than before, Chase nodded.
“…Yes.”
Josh pretended not to notice that his eyes were slightly moist. Instead, he closed his eyes, kissed him, and simply said.
“I’ll make you happy, Chase Miller.”
In the airport VIP lounge, there was no one but a man and two children. The man, at least, was practically glued to the glass wall that covered one entire side, endlessly watching the planes descend. Behind him, a boy and a girl ran wildly around the spacious lounge.
“Pete, give it back! I said, Give it back!”
The rather large boy snatched the ribbon decorating the girl’s hair and ran off, and the girl, indignant, shouted and chased after him. She barely caught up to Pete, but the girl was still too short. The child, unable to reach the ribbon despite stretching her arms as hard as she could, shouted in anger.
“Papa! Pete took my hair tie!”
“Pete, give it back. It’s Cecil’s.”
The man, still fixed on the outside, said indifferently. Cecil, fuming, turned around and held out her hand.
“You heard him? Give it back now!”
“Idiot, you’re a boy, why do you wear this in your hair? Are you a girl?”
“Give it back, I said!”
“Cecil’s a girl, Cecil’s a girl!”
“Give it back!”
Finally, Cecil burst into tears. Only then did Chase turn his head and quickly approach, picking up Cecil.
“Papa, Papa.”
“Yes, yes. Good boy.”
Chase patted Cecil’s back and looked down at Pete. Chase smiled and stroked Pete’s head, seeing him quickly become wary, his earlier bravado gone.
“Pete, you shouldn’t tease Cecil.”
“But Cecil’s a boy.”
Pete protested.
“Boys don’t do this. They don’t wear pink dresses.”
Chase, looking at Pete’s pouting face, suddenly remembered his own childhood.
“Papa wore them too, Pete.”
At those words, Pete paused. Chase was embarrassed but decided to be honest, as he would find out eventually.
“When I was bigger than Cecil… when I was about your age, I wore them. I even filmed commercials.”
Pete just blinked his wide eyes, speechless. Chase worried if he had hurt the child. He put Cecil down from his arms, then bent down to meet Pete’s eyes.
“Are you disappointed in Papa?”
Pete couldn’t answer. Seeing his son just rolling his eyes in embarrassment, Chase felt a pang of bitterness. Perhaps he had unconsciously shown a sad expression, because Pete suddenly widened his eyes and shook his head vigorously.
“No, I’m not! Papa, I’m not disappointed. If you want to wear it, you wear it, so what? It’s okay. Cecil can wear it too! So don’t cry.”
It was a misunderstanding that he was crying, but seeing the child cling to his neck and insistently comfort him, Chase’s heart swelled with pride.
“Okay. Thank you, Pete. I won’t cry.”
“Yeah.”
As he patted the child’s back, Pete nodded and pulled away. Seeing his still anxious face, Chase smiled reassuringly. Only then did Pete’s expression relax, and he returned Cecil’s ribbon, which he held in his hand.
“Here.”
Cecil took it and held it out to Chase again.
“Tie it nicely before Daddy comes, Papa.”
“Okay.”
Chase skillfully made a ribbon. He held Cecil around the waist and showed him the mirror on the wall, and only then did Cecil smile with satisfaction.
After putting the child down, he smiled and asked.
“Do you like girl clothes, Cecil?”
“Huh?”
Cecil, who had looked up, let out a short gasp, “Ah,” then fell into thought for a moment.
“Not necessarily.”
“Then why do you always try to wear girl clothes?”
Chase asked out of pure curiosity. Cecil replied innocently.
“Daddy likes it when I wear girl clothes and says I’m pretty. That’s probably because I look a lot like Papa, right? Daddy likes Papa very, very much.”
“And? Is that all?”
Chase couldn’t hide his smile and urged him on. Cecil seemed to fall into serious thought this time, then soon smiled brightly.
“It’s a secret.”
“What?”
Chase froze with a smile on his face and looked down at him. But Cecil had already lost interest and ran towards Pete, starting to say something. Chase, looking wistfully at the child’s retreating back, turned his head. Another plane was landing.
“Oh.”
Seeing the familiar Mark, Chase quickly checked his wristwatch.
“Pete, Cecil! Daddy’s here!”
At his urgent shout, the children, who had been bickering again, simultaneously turned their heads.
“Daddy!”
“Daddy?”
Chase, holding the children who rushed towards him with shouts of “Wow!”, quickly turned around. As soon as the bodyguards outside opened the door, Chase rushed out, running through the airport with Pete tucked under his arm and Cecil on his shoulders.
“Wow, wow!”
Cecil shouted from above his head. Chase, with long legs befitting his tall stature, sprinted madly through the airport and quickly arrived at the designated gate. At the separate gate for private jet passengers, no one was visible except for the security staff.
Chase waited, his heart pounding, for the door to open. When that moment finally came, his heart almost stopped.
“Daddy…!”
“Daddy!”
The child on his shoulders and the child clinging to his side simultaneously flailed and shouted. But Chase couldn’t move and only looked at him.
The man, whose face he hadn’t seen in two months, walked out, rubbing his neck as if tired, then spotted them and his expression instantly brightened.
“My treasures!”
He shouted cheerfully, threw down his luggage, and ran to embrace all three of them, including Chase.
“Did you wait long? Wow, Cecil is still pretty. Pete, you seem to have grown taller.”
Josh mentioned the two children alternately, then kissed Chase instead. He pulled away from his lips and smiled, and words poured out.
“Daddy, Daddy. Earlier, Pete took my ribbon.”
“Daddy! Papa, no, Cecil!”
“Joshua, you know what? Something happened to me.”
“Yes, yes. I know. Yes.”
As the three men opened their mouths, vying to speak, causing a commotion, Josh quickly directed traffic.
“Let’s talk inside. Good? I’ll listen to everything.”
“Daddy, how long are you staying this time?”
Cecil asked eagerly. Everyone fell silent at once, focusing their gaze on Josh. Josh smiled and replied.
“I plan to rest for the next three months. This job was too hard.”
Seeing him massage his shoulder conspicuously, the other three said nothing. But Josh could already tell enough from their expressions. He smiled kindly and opened his mouth.
“Let’s go home, to our house.”
“Yeah!”
“Wow!”
Pete and Cecil shouted simultaneously, and Chase smiled brightly. Their overlapping lips lingered a little longer than before. Chase, who had finished the kiss and lifted his head, whispered with a faint blush.
“I missed you.”
Josh smiled back and returned the kiss. After their lips parted, he said.
“Next time, give me a chance to speak first.”
Chase only smiled. Listening to the children’s chatter that followed, the two walked on. Pete began to chatter excitedly.
“Daddy, listen. The reason Cecil wears girl clothes is because…”
