Into the Rose Garden Novel - Chapter 21 Taming the Stallion
It was all well and good to visit the mansion early in the morning with such dignified air. But I couldn’t understand why, without even catching a glimpse of Aeroc’s head within the same house, I had to walk back and forth across the study several times, receiving severe scolding from the butler.
“Chin in, shoulders back! Not too fast.”
The butler even brandished a riding crop he’d brought from somewhere, correcting Kloff’s posture. When Kloff asked what he was doing, a harsh lash fell upon his shoulder.
“If you wish to be a suitable partner for the Count, first master the correct posture befitting him.”
“Ah, is this what they call noble bridal training?”
“It’s closer to taming a horned colt, but yes, that’s right.”
“…More like taming a stallion, wouldn’t you say?”
“Pfft.”
At the clear scoff, Kloff glared at the butler, but as if he had never laughed, the butler straightened his face, pointed to one side again, and commanded, “Walk straight.” Kloff had no choice but to obey for now. Not only did the beating hurt, but since he had decided to become an economic official, he might have to frequent the royal court’s social circles, and in that event, the butler’s education seemed like it would be very effective.
Let’s think positively. His blood boiled as the butler followed a step behind him, tapping his slightly slumped shoulder with the riding crop, but he decided to think positively. That was, until the butler handed Kloff a stack of formidable humanities books just as he was about to leave for his office after the morning posture training.
“I will be checking the content tomorrow. Please read it all.”
“All of this by today? Surely you haven’t read all of this yourself?”
Although he had mainly studied law and economics during university, even Kloff, who prided himself on having read a good amount of humanities books, only knew the titles of half of them, and the other half he didn’t even know the titles of. It was hard to believe the butler could check them all.
“Of course not me. That is part of the list the Count himself provided.”
“Then who will check it?”
“The Count will do so at this time tomorrow. Strive not to disappoint him.”
“Really?”
At those words, Kloff’s eyes gleamed. He nodded, and seemed to unconsciously lick his lips. The butler, who was wiping his monocle with a handkerchief and putting it back on, said, “I will be present as well, so abandon any vain hopes,” and then left Kloff standing there, dumbfounded, clutching the books.
He absolutely did not want to lose. He wanted to be recognized in any way possible. His competitive spirit was what allowed him to graduate with honors as a poor exchange student and receive support from his professor. Even now, he was doing his best to achieve what he desired.
From late morning to late afternoon, he dealt with clients and planned investment strategies for state funds. It was a new field he hadn’t encountered before, so there was a lot of information he needed to research, and he also had to review international laws he had neglected. He was incredibly busy. By the time he returned home late in the evening, he was utterly exhausted.
“You seem very busy these days. What if you ruin your health?”
Martha, with a worried expression, served him easily digestible soup, soft bread, and juice. Kloff devoured it hastily and asked Martha to bring him some black tea to the study later. Martha, as if exasperated, put her hands on her hips and began to nag.
“Work is good in your youth, but you must also sleep. If you overwork like that, you’ll die before you can even get a beautiful bride.”
“I’m working hard to get that bride. Martha, please make the black tea strong.”
Kloff left a light kiss on her cheek and went to the study, carrying the heavy books. He tossed aside his jacket and vest, and untied his cuffs and tie. Then he looked at the four books Hugo had handed him.
The very first volume was Types of Sin. As a member of the ruling class, it was a fundamental book he ought to read, but Kloff, who had never considered himself part of the ruling class, had only skimmed it for general knowledge. A sigh escaped him at the thought of having to read all these troublesome books, but if he backed down now, he felt he wouldn’t be able to lay a finger on Aeroc, so he steeled his resolve and opened the first page.
He managed to read two volumes by dawn, but four were impossible. He had a feeling Aeroc would delve into Types of Sin, so he thoroughly read that and one other philosophy book, but only skimmed the remaining two. Even that required Kloff to stay up almost all night. He dozed off briefly and woke up early in the morning to the sound of Martha moving. It seemed he had fallen asleep face down in the study. Half-asleep, he returned to his room and took a hot shower.
It was the first time he had pulled an all-nighter for an assignment since graduating from university, but after a short sleep, he wasn’t that tired. He was confident in his stamina after all. As the hot water hit him, Kloff felt a little excited at the thought of meeting Aeroc soon. Even with so little sleep, just thinking of him sent blood rushing to his lower body. Coupled with a natural morning physiological phenomenon, Kloff cursed softly and had to suppress an untimely groan. As expected, the end felt empty.
Why do I have to do this when I have a perfectly fine Omega partner?
He felt a little gloomy and miserable, but soon shook it off. The greater the effort, the greater the reward. Kloff showered and got ready to go out.
As he entered the mansion, the butler came out to greet him again. When he entered the study, to his disappointment, Aeroc wasn’t there. It must have been evident on his face, for the butler answered before he even asked.
“Shoulders straight! You cannot meet the Count if you do not pass the first stage.”
There was no point in arguing about what kind of test this was, or what stages there were, as only the riding crop would fly, so Kloff walked as he had learned yesterday. Kloff was by no means unintelligent, and he had a strong ability to apply what he learned quickly. The butler, who had been watching intently, trying to find fault, nodded expressionlessly, but Kloff was certain he was disappointed.
“Please wait a moment.”
The butler left the study and soon returned. And Aeroc was with him. Instantly, Kloff sprang up from his seat. Dressed in understated luxury, with his dark blonde hair neatly combed back, Aeroc entered the study with a faint smile, but upon seeing Kloff, his artificial smile faltered slightly.
Just as Kloff was about to move, extending both hands forward with an innocent expression, the butler cleared his throat beside him. Startled, Aeroc immediately straightened his posture and, with his usual artificial smile, gave a slight nod. Kloff, who had been standing with his arms open, expecting Aeroc to rush into them, let out a sigh of disappointment and bowed politely. Damn old man.
Aeroc approached gracefully and extended his hand for a handshake, but Kloff took his hand, pulled him closer, and embraced him. Then, for all to see, he kissed his lips. Aeroc, who had frozen in surprise, opened his eyes, which he had closed during the kiss, with a slightly regretful expression as the kiss ended.
“How have you been?”
“You too.”
As they exchanged greetings, Kloff lightly held him and kissed his golden hair again. The butler, who was watching the scene from behind, had an extraordinary expression. Kloff smiled victoriously and deliberately caressed the smooth curve of Aeroc’s back with his hand. It had been quite a long time since he had seen Aeroc, and he didn’t want to let him go. As he whispered, asking if he was well and if he had missed him, Aeroc chuckled softly.
The butler, seeing the two of them, coughed several times as if he had consumption. At that, Aeroc lightly pushed Kloff away. Aeroc sat down, glancing at the butler, and Kloff, glaring at the butler as if to kill him, tried to sit next to him, but the butler intervened, threatening to wield the riding crop, so Kloff reluctantly sat opposite him. Sparks flew between Kloff and the butler. Aeroc smiled awkwardly and picked up a book that lay nearby.
Once the questions began, Aeroc was even worse than the butler. Even Kloff, who had never been pushed back in an oral examination in his life, faltered.
“Why do you think so?”
This was the worst question. No, when he answered “the stability of the ruling class” to the question of what reason there was for the ruling class to consider the lower classes, other than the commonly cited ethical duty, that was the question he got back. Such probing questions were a common rhetorical device used by some professors who intentionally put their opponents in a difficult position to observe their reactions.
Normally, he would have gathered all sorts of recondite topics to deflect the conversation and gain the upper hand, but there was no point in defeating Aeroc that way, and it didn’t seem like he could win anyway. So he stretched his leg under the table and placed it against Aeroc’s. As he slowly rubbed it, stalling for time with “Well, let’s see,” a blush spread across Aeroc’s fair, neat face. Then he bit his lip tightly and began to glare, his eyes narrowed. Kloff pretended not to notice and rubbed his leg more boldly.
“Wh-what…”
“Hmm, what’s wrong?”
As Kloff grinned and acted shamelessly, Aeroc was about to open his mouth but then noticed the butler standing behind him and closed it. He flustered, “…Let’s move on to another question,” and opened another book. Fortunately, Aeroc seemed distracted by something else and didn’t ask any sharp questions, allowing Kloff to answer leisurely.
“It seems you’ve read it all.”
“I don’t lie. Unlike some people.”
“Oh… Let’s stop for today.”
Aeroc quickly stood up. The butler, who had been observing from a slight distance, was puzzled by the early end, unaware of what had transpired. Kloff chuckled, and Aeroc stopped walking as he left the study. After a moment of thought, he glanced back at Kloff. Then he spoke to the butler.
“Find him the books for the next list. Tell him I’ll see him again in two days.”
“Understood.”
After he left, the butler again found four books. Kloff’s eyes nearly popped out when he took the books.
“Did he really tell you to give me these?”
“Yes, is there a problem?”
“No. No problem at all.”
The butler clearly had never read these books. Kloff carried them out and laughed incredulously as he boarded the carriage. Then he had to struggle to suppress the surging desire within him. Three of the books he received were ordinary humanities books. However, one was the second volume of The History of Suffering.
By its title, it seemed like an ordinary religious or history book. And indeed, it was. The problem was that The History of Suffering did not have a second volume. Usually, such books only had such covers, and the contents were often different books, and unless they were politically forbidden books, they were mostly explicit erotic literature banned for reasons of public indecency. The ones circulating among students in college were exactly like this. When he opened it, sure enough…
“This is insane.”
It was a story too scandalous to read, about an Omega maiden from a noble family who suddenly became cursed and had to engage in relations with Alphas to survive, indiscriminately sleeping with all sorts of Alphas. There were even more groans than dialogue. Handing this over was a clear temptation. He hadn’t even looked at him for two weeks, and now he was offering an erotic book. What a cunning Omega. How could he wait two days?
Two days later, Kloff tried diligently to read the other three books, but he couldn’t help but thoroughly read the second volume of The History of Suffering. He truly longed for morning to come. He barely greeted Martha, who was preparing breakfast, and gulped down some black tea, cooled slightly with cold water, before rushing out like the wind. He tried hard to feign calmness to hide his excitement as he entered the mansion, only to be greeted by a different footman instead of the butler.
“Where’s the butler?”
“He went out on the Count’s orders. Please come this way.”
By this point, Kloff was surprised. He complained that the footman wasn’t moving faster as he followed him, and the place they went to wasn’t even the study, but the private chambers that the masters frequently used. As expected, it wasn’t the bedroom, but it was a sufficiently private place that many nobles used for such purposes. Kloff, unable to calm down, barely drank the tea the footman brought him.
Meanwhile, one of the doors opened, and Aeroc entered. Seeing Kloff, he gave a faint smile and a nod, as if nothing was amiss, then turned and locked the door. He even went to the door Kloff had entered through and locked that one too, then went to the window that brightly illuminated the chambers, bent down, and looked outside.
Kloff stared intently at his back. Aeroc, wearing a thin indoor jacket, revealed his back and waist, and his firm buttocks and thighs were visible above his well-tailored trousers. Kloff could only swallow, unable to speak, when Aeroc reached out and drew the heavy curtains. All of them. Before his eyes could properly adjust to the suddenly darkened room, a sweet yet bitter scent reached his nose. He blinked a few times and saw Aeroc approaching, dropping his jacket to the floor.
Damn it. I’m going to die here today.
“Did you read the book I gave you?”
“Of course.”
Aeroc approached, wrapping his arms around Kloff’s neck with a subtle smile, pressing close. As Kloff’s already swollen center, which felt like it would burst, pressed against Aeroc’s body, he couldn’t hold back a low groan. Then he wrapped his arms around Aeroc’s waist and tried to kiss him hastily, but Aeroc turned his head, avoiding it. Kloff rubbed his lips against Aeroc’s neck and behind his ear, and with his knees, he parted Aeroc’s legs.
Aeroc let out a low sigh and whispered, “The second volume of The History of Suffering?” in a slightly shaky voice. It was so maddeningly erotic that Kloff almost reached climax just from that. Instead, he bit Aeroc’s smooth, fragrant neck slightly to endure it.
“…I almost memorized it.”
“You worked hard on your homework, so I should give you a reward.”
“Are you planning to kill me, or are you planning to die?”
“We’ll see.”
Before Kloff could answer, Aeroc pressed his lips against his first. Kloff, half-lost in thought, focused on the kiss as the smooth, soft flesh boldly delved inside. Meanwhile, he pulled out the hem of Aeroc’s shirt. One hand was on his buttocks, the other caressed his back and waist, while simultaneously rubbing against his swollen front.
In the meantime, Aeroc unbuttoned Kloff’s jacket, then his vest, and then loosened his tie. As Aeroc tried to undress him, Kloff naturally removed his hands. As the jacket, meticulously ironed by Martha, lay crumpled on the floor, the two did not break their kiss. During the deep kiss, which made squelching sounds, Aeroc tried to unbutton Kloff’s shirt but soon became annoyed.
“Why are there so many buttons?”
At that, Kloff re-occupied Aeroc’s lips, unbuttoned his wrist cuffs first, and then, without even fully unbuttoning his shirt, pulled it off over his head. As his firm chest was revealed, Aeroc caressed it with both hands and brought his lips to Kloff’s nape. Then he pushed Kloff, who was trying to take off his shirt, backward, making him fall onto the long sofa.
“Ugh.”
As Kloff, who had fallen, slightly frowned and adjusted his posture, Aeroc, leaving his shirt, began to take off his pants. He climbed onto the Alpha’s waist, who was half-risen, having thrown off his shoes and pants, still gazing at him with his eyes. Kloff, seeing Aeroc tilt his head back, sweep back his blonde hair, and look down at him with a slight smile, had to barely overcome the second crisis of climax with tightly clenched fists.
As he reached out to grasp the elegant waist of the person on top of him, Aeroc boldly touched Kloff’s lower half. Each time his slightly cold fingers brushed his lower abdomen, Kloff wanted to immediately flip him over and push hard, but he forced himself to endure, unsure how many more times he would see Aeroc kiss him and undress himself.
Finally, having overcome the difficulty and gotten what he wanted, Aeroc looked up at Kloff, his eyes wide. As his cold hand grasped his center, goosebumps and a fiery sensation surged simultaneously. As his already enlarged member grew even harder, Aeroc curled the corners of his lips while touching it. Kloff’s mind went blank, seeing a seductress on top of him instead of the person who had begged with tears in their eyes the last time.
“It’s very hot.”
“…Aeroc, is that really you?”
Aeroc looked down, gauging the position, then lifted his head and tilted it. Such innocent behavior. Was he really going to die here today? As Kloff gaped, unable to speak, Aeroc frowned slightly, then, understanding something, smiled.
“If you don’t believe me, shall we check?”
“There’s no need to rush.”
“There’s no time. Hugo will be back soon.”
With that, Aeroc grasped Kloff’s member and lowered his hips to match it. Even without any foreplay, the moist place swallowed the large object. It seemed it was too much to insert it directly, as he leaned on Kloff’s chest with both hands, furrowing his brows and struggling, which only made it grow larger.
“Ah!”
Perhaps feeling it, Aeroc glared. He really glared. It wasn’t a hostile stare, but a strangely alluring gaze, with hot breaths escaping between slightly parted lips, that made Kloff unable to breathe. He grabbed Aeroc’s elegant waist and helped him descend all the way.
“Ugh… Haa…”
Once perfectly pressed together, Aeroc let out the breath he had been holding. Between the parted shirt hems, a very erotic-colored erection stood firm. Kloff felt like he was losing half his mind, seeing Aeroc swallow and feel his own. When he tried to touch the erotic part, Aeroc slapped his hand away.
“Don’t touch me. I feel like I’m going to come anyway.”
“…Aeroc.”
Kloff, now too stunned to be surprised, just stared blankly up at him. Aeroc took Kloff’s hand, placed it on his own thigh, and then put his hand on Kloff’s firm abdomen for support, slowly moving his body.
The dry air in the small chamber quickly became humid. The hot breaths of the two raised the temperature, and the luxurious silk shirt worn by the person writhing on top of the large man became soaked with sweat and clung to him. The moment Kloff saw the prominent pale pink nipples on Aeroc’s chest, he couldn’t hold back and sat up. At that, Aeroc gasped sharply, embracing Kloff’s neck. Yet, he never stopped moving.
With an agonizing pleasure rushing through him, he furrowed his brows and slightly contorted his face. As a large hand moved up his body, scratching his nipples, he tightened his thighs around the other’s waist. Then, grabbing Kloff’s dark brown hair with his fingers, he lifted Kloff’s head and kissed him.
Then, as the hot object inside him touched a certain spot, he immediately gasped and trembled slightly. As that spot was repeatedly stimulated, Aeroc’s eyelids fluttered, and he tried to sit up, but Kloff firmly held his waist down, preventing him from doing so.
“Ah…”
A mournful groan escaped, and the inner walls gripping Kloff’s member constricted as if convulsing. At that moment, Kloff felt something hot being sprayed into his lower abdomen, along with an intense body scent. The moment his Omega reached climax, Kloff could no longer hold back. He left his mark inside that unbearably erotic and hot body. The scents of the two intertwined, and at the same time, their tongues intertwined as well.
One time wasn’t enough, so he immediately pushed Aeroc onto his back and tried to throw one of his weakened legs over his shoulder, but Aeroc, who had been enjoying the languor immediately after intercourse, urgently pushed him away.
“The butler will be back soon… Ah…”
Without listening, Kloff sucked on Aeroc’s nape and stirred the incredibly hot interior with his unyielding member. Perhaps it hit that exact spot, as Aeroc couldn’t speak, and his member, which had slightly shrunk after ejaculation, soon stiffened again. The sticky, whitish liquid oozing from the tip of that male organ looked very appetizing, but for now, other matters were more urgent, so he held back. Instead, he grasped it with his hand and stroked it up and down, making Aeroc breathe heavily and plead with disheveled eyes.
“Just bear with it a little longer. It’ll be over soon.”
“Ah… No. Not there…”
He wasn’t even squeezing hard, but Aeroc’s eyelids trembled, and he clung to Kloff with a tearful expression. Seeing him flustered as if he had never been caressed there before, he seemed extremely sensitive to pleasure. That only fanned the flames of the Alpha’s already endless lust, and the Omega beneath him trembled, letting out faint cries.
Finally, as the Alpha, who had reached his second climax, ejaculated his thick fluid inside that body, the Omega then used both hands to push away the Alpha’s hand gripping his member and belatedly ejaculated.
“Haaah, haaah.”
Breathing heavily, Kloff collapsed onto Aeroc. Aeroc, unable to close his legs, still held Kloff within him, closed his eyes, and breathed as heavily as he did. He wanted to savor the afterglow, but as Aeroc had said, there wasn’t much time. Kloff soon sat up and kissed Aeroc’s sweat-soaked cheek.
“It was worth the effort. Getting such a reward too. Will you give me a reward next time if I memorize all the books?”
As he whispered, sucking on Aeroc’s red earlobe, Aeroc tilted his head toward him and rubbed his cheek. His languid hands slid up onto Kloff’s shoulders.
“…I met Viscount Derbyshire last week.”
“Why him?”
The mood was perfect, but an unexpected name suddenly popped out, ruining the moment. As Kloff straightened his face and looked up, Aeroc was looking at him with his usual faint smile.
“He asked if I wanted to be introduced to an Omega he knew.”
Ah, his meddling didn’t end with himself. He even extended his reach to Aeroc. What should he say to make him stop interfering? He owed the man various favors, so he couldn’t stab him in the back. Kloff frowned deeply.
“…So what did you say?”
“I said I’d think about it.”
“What?”
He sprang up. As a result, what had been joined separated, and Aeroc made a small sound and writhed. Then he glared at Kloff with teary eyes and drew his legs together. No matter how erotic it was, and no matter how much heat rushed to his lower body again, that wasn’t the problem now.
“You should have refused!”
“Why should I?”
“You!”
He was so dumbfounded that words failed him. He sighed a few times, rubbed his face with his hand, and then let out a deep sigh, looking at the maddening Omega who was staring at him as if he had done nothing wrong.
“You just seduced me and slept with me, and now you’re going to marry another Alpha, no, Omega? Were you just playing with me? Were those books, and the posture correction, all just a joke?”
He asked in a tired voice, too exhausted to argue, and Aeroc, instead, glared back as if he was the wronged one.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t marry an Omega and had no intention of settling down with anyone? I’m not going to be played by someone who pulls in someone who doesn’t want to be involved, even goes through a heat with them, and then plans to live alone forever.”
“What?”
“You used to ramble on about standing before a priest with three people, or wanting to have several children…”
His softly murmured voice was laced with deep anger. Kloff turned his head to look at the person who had just spoken. He seemed genuinely angry, glaring at Kloff before turning his head away. Understanding what he meant, Kloff, dumbfounded, uttered a single word.
“You said Aeroc Taywin was an Alpha.”
He grabbed Aeroc, who was trying to get up and off the sofa, and pulled him back down. He pushed and struggled, but Kloff enveloped him with his body, pressing him down, and Aeroc soon gave up, overwhelmed by the force. However, his anger remained completely unabated, and he turned away from Kloff.
“Did Viscount Derbyshire say that?”
“Don’t deny it.”
“Yes. I did say that.”
At that, Aeroc’s blue eyes, which immediately looked at Kloff, were filled with betrayal. The corners of his eyes trembled slightly, and his tightly bitten lips also trembled faintly, as if he was holding back tears. Haa. What should I do with this? This naughty, cunning, lovely Count, who keeps playing with my emotions like this.
“Since you’re known to the world as an Alpha, it’s hard to reveal it publicly. You know that well. I’m trying my best. To make you my wife. That’s why I’m reading those books and learning how to walk again every morning, like a horse being whipped, something I haven’t learned since I was one year old. Does all that seem like a lie?”
“So what you told Viscount Derbyshire wasn’t true?”
“I have no intention of marrying another Omega. It’s highly likely I’ll remain legally single. But if you accept me, the story changes.”
“…Was I mistaken?”
“Next time, won’t you confirm with me first? Of course, if you tempt me like today, it’s more than welcome.”
As Kloff pressed a kiss onto Aeroc’s slightly dazed lips, leaving a mark, Aeroc blinked, looking a little flustered. His appearance was so cute and lovely that Kloff kept stealing kisses. Yet, while it was good that Aeroc thought he had been betrayed, he still couldn’t understand why he had suddenly tempted him. Feeling their lips lightly touch, then press together, then slowly separate, he asked,
“But what were you thinking, tempting me like this?”
“That was…”
Kloff persuaded him to reveal everything so that they wouldn’t make another mistake due to misunderstanding. In fact, the threat he made with his lips moving from Aeroc’s nape to his collarbone, then past his sternum to his nipples, seemed to work better than persuasion. Anyway, Aeroc panted and confessed the truth.
“I thought you were playing with me. So I wanted to do the same.”
He was just sucking on Aeroc’s nipple when he laughed, and unintentionally bit that sensitive nub slightly.
“Ah! That hurts!”
Kloff laughed uncontrollably, watching Aeroc push him away. He wondered if there could be such a cute and lovely creature. Aeroc’s face flushed with embarrassment, and he pushed Kloff away, who was laughing, then stood up, clenching his fists and trembling.
“Don’t laugh! You bad bastard!”
He yelled, but Kloff didn’t hear him at all, busy watching what was flowing down his thighs. Feeling Kloff’s gaze, Aeroc’s face flushed even more, and he picked up Kloff’s jacket, which had fallen nearby, and threw it at him. As Kloff pulled the jacket down, Aeroc quickly gathered his scattered clothes. Kloff walked up behind him, wrapped his arms around his waist, and said, “Are you tempting me again?” as he kissed his nape.
“Get off!”
As Kloff pondered how to make Aeroc, who was turning around and about to snap at him, fall again, a knock suddenly sounded from outside.
“Young Master, are you in here?”
The butler’s angry voice was heard.
“Gasp, it’s Hugo. I wasn’t here. I was tired today and overslept, okay?”
Aeroc turned pale, pushed Kloff away, gathered his clothes, and fled through another door. Meanwhile, Kloff hurriedly put on the shirt he had tossed in the corner and began stuffing the hem into his pants.
“Young Master?”
Kloff hastily put on his vest, looked around for his tie, and then pulled back the curtains and opened the window to air out the room. Then he looked back and saw his tie abandoned under the table. He quickly picked it up, put it around his neck, roughly tied it, closed the vest buttons, and was just about to fasten his cuffs when the butler opened the door with a key and entered.
“Young Master? Are you here?”
“Aeroc’s not here. He didn’t come today because he was tired.”
Kloff, leaning against the window and feigning nonchalance, spoke in a rather light voice, but the butler immediately frowned and glared at Kloff. His nose twitched, as if he had sensed something, making Kloff flinch. But the butler said nothing and looked around the chambers. Just when Kloff thought it would pass quietly, the butler’s foot caught on something as he moved. Both of them looked down simultaneously, and there lay a single shoe, having lost its mate.
Oh, my God. Are you a fairy tale protagonist?
Kloff covered his eyes with his hand, then lowered it to cover his mouth, and meanwhile, the butler picked up the shoe with trembling hands. And with barely trembling lips, he managed to speak.
“It’s late enough for today, so please leave.”
“Ah, thank you.”
Kloff offered a needless farewell and quickly grabbed his jacket to leave. Then, from behind, the devil called.
“Instead! I shall see you about two hours earlier tomorrow.”
“Ahahaha. Alright.”
Feeling the chilling gaze pierce his back, Kloff quickly disappeared from the furious devil’s sight.
The next day, Kloff endured terrible torture under the guise of physical training. After being worked to death doing garden chores, which had no apparent connection to noble etiquette, he was forced to eat only a rough, black loaf of bread and then organize all the books in the enormous study, which had never been properly organized since the previous generation died and only Aeroc used it. According to the Dewey Decimal System. Alone. Without any help.
Even if he had taken a day off work and dedicated himself to it, it wouldn’t have finished until very late at night. And because he was late, he wasn’t even properly provided with a meal and was kicked out. The Count’s coachman dropped Kloff, who was utterly exhausted, in front of his house and sped away.
“Oh dear. This is going to kill someone. No, is that Omega really that good?”
“This is an unfavorable fight for me.”
“There are plenty of other easy people. I just can’t understand my master’s taste.”
Even so, Martha said no more and helped Kloff to his bed, took off his shoes, and covered him with a sheet.
“Wake me up before midnight. I have documents to review.”
“Alright. Just rest for now.”
“Thank you, Martha.”
“At this rate, only my master will die. Let’s see how great that esteemed family is later.”
Martha grumbled and left the room. At that moment, Kloff thought Martha might be able to handle Hugo, but the thought didn’t last long. He quickly fell asleep.
