Into the Rose Garden Novel - Chapter 11 Scene #1. Once upon a dream
He saw a beautiful rose garden, where colorful flower buds were bursting open.
In the fresh space bathed in early summer sunlight, Aeroc Teiwind was leisurely strolling. Recently, several marriage proposals have come from various families. It was his duty as an heir to choose a suitable omega and marry, and Aeroc naturally accepted this.
He intended to evaluate omegas as carefully as one would choose a rose. They shouldn’t be too ignorant, nor too intelligent, which would be troublesome. They should have a certain degree of wealth, but not necessarily be rich. Cultured and gentle. If possible, a female omega would be preferable. Male omegas couldn’t bear many children, and often died during childbirth.
His own mother had been a male, and had ruined his health after giving birth to him. An only child might monopolize parental attention, but he still thought it was better to have many. A female omega would surely bear many vibrant children to fill this vast garden. Aeroc dreamed of this. If only he hadn’t met a young country man who had lost his way in the garden that day.
Tall and handsome, he lacked the sophistication of a city noble. Instead, he possessed a straightforward, innocent, and kind smile that was recognizable at a glance. Invited to the count’s tea party, he seemed to have wandered a bit through the garden and lost his way. Aeroc extended his kindness, leading him to the rose garden where the tea party was being held.
“I am Aeroc Teiwind. And you?”
“Kloff Bendyke.”
In front of the rose garden, he gave Aeroc a faint smile. At that moment, Aeroc experienced something that could only be described by the cliché phrase: his heart sank. He took the extended hand for a handshake and stared intently into the deep brown eyes. The serious gaze also turned towards him.
Aeroc found himself reflected in those eyes. He looked like a novice falling in love for the first time, eyes wide, mouth slightly agape, staring blankly at the other person. So he smiled. Not a subtle, tea-scented smile, but one as bright and vibrant as a rose bursting its petals with all its might in early summer.
A rose was most beautiful just before full bloom. Once a flower burst open, it soon yellowed and, if caught in the rain, would grotesquely distort.
When Kloff returned to the mansion, risking his life, and she was carrying their second child, there was a woman who approached Kloff. Although her appearance was different from his wife’s, her mannerisms and personality were very similar to the deceased Raphiel’s. She had a gentle and kind disposition. Kloff seemed to like her too, occasionally inviting her home for tea. She seemed to already know that Kloff had one child. Nevertheless, perhaps deeming it unimportant, the two became very close.
One day in the mansion garden, Kloff kissed her hand and then kissed her lips as she smiled, looking a little shy. Aeroc watched this from a window in one of the mansion’s rooms. It was as if the dead Raphiel had come back to life to mock him.
A fiery jealousy flared. No one would tolerate their alpha, the father of their child, dallying with another omega. But he couldn’t have her eliminated by others as before. He had no such power, and above all, he no longer wanted to use such methods.
Instead, Aeroc tried himself. He feigned illness and hardship, trying to keep Kloff by his side, even for a little while, to prevent him from meeting her.
“The baby isn’t moving.”
Once a lie began, it was uncontrollable. If he used the baby as an excuse, Kloff would spend the whole day by his side, placing his hand on his belly to check if the baby was moving. The baby in his belly moved quickly, but Aeroc held Kloff’s hand and didn’t let go. He deliberately held on, even though she was waiting outside.
“It hurts. I might miscarry.”
“I’ll send it to the doctor.”
“The baby’s father needs to be here.”
Aeroc demanded this with a faint smile. After Kloff himself had carried him, who was on the verge of death, back into the house, he became even softer towards Aeroc. His sharp gaze remained, but no alpha would neglect an omega carrying his child. Aeroc was confident.
Finally, Kloff sighed wearily and called a maid, telling her to inform the woman to go back. It was a very humiliating act. Not even apologizing directly, but having a maid deliver the message.
But Aeroc made it happen. It was also Kloff’s fault for hiding Aeroc’s pregnancy. If he had revealed it from the beginning, even if it was a little awkward, this wouldn’t have happened. Kloff looked very angry, but there was nothing he could do beside a pregnant omega. Aeroc smiled, took Kloff’s hand, and placed it on his belly.
Her visits became less frequent, then stopped entirely. She hadn’t immediately broken off their relationship despite such humiliation, so it seemed she genuinely liked Kloff quite a bit.
In truth, a noble with such wealth and ability, even with a child, was popular everywhere. Aeroc himself had once been an object of such admiration, but now he was Kloff’s omega. He was already carrying their second child; even with past events, wasn’t it right for him to be acknowledged to some extent? Kloff was very angry, but Aeroc feigned ignorance. It was Kloff who hadn’t mentioned anything about her. He seemed heartbroken.
During the pregnancy, when light heats occasionally came, Aeroc boldly urged him for sex. Kloff strongly disliked it, but he couldn’t resist the pleas of a pregnant omega.
Sometimes, he feigned illness and manipulated the doctor, who saw him, to scold Kloff about being gentle with a pregnant omega. In the end, Kloff lost again. With a stiff expression, he removed Aeroc’s thin nightgown. Aeroc smiled, moving his body slightly to make it easier to undress.
Soon, a large penis entered his body. Only a little fluid flowed, so it was very painful with each thrust. He sweated coldly from the pain rather than pleasure, letting out small moans. Kloff grabbed Aeroc’s arm, spread his legs, and just thrust. Before long, something hot was sprayed inside him. It hurt much more than during his heat, and Aeroc didn’t even get a proper erection, but he felt satisfied. Kloff cursed slowly and pulled away.
“Satisfied?”
He hadn’t even taken off his clothes, so he could get up quickly. Aeroc urgently grabbed his hand.
“Don’t go.”
“What do you want now?”
His irritated response cooled the chest that had just been hot. But Aeroc didn’t show it and demanded in a calm tone.
“Sleep next to me.”
Kloff trembled, glaring as if he wanted to kill him, but in the end, he couldn’t refuse again. Aeroc, naked, burrowed into the alpha’s embrace and closed his eyes. Who knew pregnancy would be so useful? Childbirth was painful, and his body was heavy and difficult, but if Kloff stayed by his side like this, he felt he could bear several more children.
He hoped the second child would be an alpha. An omega who bore an alpha would gain an undeniable position. Even if it was a little difficult, after bearing one more child, Kloff would probably give up and accept reality. That his wife wasn’t the dead Raphiel, but Aeroc.
The grotesquely distorted petals, stubbornly resisting, were struck by fierce raindrops and fell to the bottom. Crushed countless times by indifferent passing feet, the petals could no longer maintain their color, mixing with dust and losing their form. The place where the arrogance of eternal beauty was washed away was filled with black, rotten petal marks.
The pain receded, and once again, he stood before the rose garden.
Aeroc, in rags and with an emaciated body, stood with his back to an empty hut. He gazed blankly, and in the distance, he saw Kloff. And six angelic children. Aeroc watched the scene as if enchanted. It was the first time he had seen all six children.
Overwhelmed, he tried to run towards them, but for some reason, his legs wouldn’t move. So he called Kloff. Several times, with all his might, as if his chest would burst. But no sound came out. He was clearly shouting, but he heard nothing. Even when he waved his hands and screamed, Kloff didn’t turn to look at him. Instead, he looked at Raphiel, who was smiling happily beside him.
You were alive.
The beautiful person smiled brightly and approached the children. The children circled him, calling “Mommy! Mommy!” Those children…, they were Raphiel’s children. I don’t have children. That’s strange. Why did I try to run?
Aeroc stood dumbfounded, then his legs gave way, and he took a step. The legs that couldn’t run strangely moved suddenly. Then he heard a splat. He looked down and saw blood gushing between his legs.
Ah, right. I was dying.
He raised his head and looked at Kloff and the children again. And Raphiel, smiling like an angel. Kloff looked happy. He was smiling brightly, just like in a distant memory. But strangely, he felt no jealousy. Just a pang in his chest, and something overflowing from his eyes. He touched his face and found it wet with clear liquid.
Tears. Yes. Now I know how to cry.
Aeroc laughed, catching the teardrops that streamed down his cheeks and chin in his palms. Then he looked up again, and Kloff was looking at him. Crying and laughing, Aeroc realized. No words were needed now. He just smiled, and Kloff gazed at Aeroc for a moment before returning to his wife and children who were calling him. Far away. To a place he couldn’t reach.
The darkness seeping from the hut rose around his feet. The calm darkness, neither cold nor hot, was no longer frightening. Aeroc watched Kloff’s receding figure in the distance and said,
“If this isn’t love, I don’t know what to call it. If there’s a next time… I want to love you then.”
Complete darkness rose to his ankles, knees, thighs, belly, chest, and then his neck. It enveloped him in layers, like soft petals.
Through the last closing gap of darkness, colorful fragments fluttered.
