Eighteen’s Bed Novel Completed - Chapter 191
The reason isn’t grand. Or is it grand? It was simply the day Go Yohan and I combined our rooms. We decided to use Go Yohan’s room, which was a bit larger than mine. We also bought a new bed as an excuse. I definitely didn’t buy it. Go Yohan bought it arbitrarily. And from a brand that’s hard to get a refund from.
Since it’s already like this, what can I do? As I was squatting in a corner of the kitchen, looking at the delivery menu and feeling excited, Go Yohan was sitting on the threshold of the largest room, looking at the bed. How did I see him? I was scurrying around, trying to decide between Set C and Set D, and went to ask for his final opinion when I saw him.
As soon as I saw the back of his head leaning against the doorframe, I had a slightly embarrassing thought.
‘I want to stroke the back of his head.’
It was the path where reason couldn’t overcome instinct and moved closer. It was when I knelt down and secretly reached out my hand, seeing his slightly protruding occiput.
“Jun.”
Was I caught? I quickly withdrew my hand, feeling awkward. And I blurted out all sorts of excuses, pretending it was nothing.
“No, there was dust on your head. Just, you know, no big deal.”
“What are you talking about?”
“No, I misspoke because I was distracted.”
Damn it. I pursed my lips inside my mouth and just twiddled my fingers. Go Yohan, who had been sitting cross-legged, spun his body like a top. He really used his body well. As I watched Go Yohan with half-closed eyes, he snapped his fingers in front of my nose. Oh. My gaze instantly went to Go Yohan’s hand and face.
Go Yohan was squinting one eye.
This guy acts childishly in unnecessary situations. He knows I was just lost in thought looking at him. Why would he dislike that? Does he always have to be the only one thought of and looked at? His absurd self-awareness was astounding. However, I pretended it was nothing and picked up the delivery menu.
“Do you want Jjamppong, Jjajangmyeon, and Tangsuyuk? Or Jjajangmyeon, Bokkeumbap, and Tangsuyuk?”
“Me? I’ll have sirloin.”
“……Can’t you just pick from the menu I mentioned?”
Please. I couldn’t bring myself to say the words that followed, so I just grabbed Go Yohan’s clothes and carefully pulled him. It was an act of desperation, secretly committed, that my fantasy couldn’t be shattered like this. Go Yohan blinked, looked at his grabbed clothes, and then, realizing what I had done, subtly let go of his hand. Ah, how embarrassing.
“Jun.”
I was biting my lips, hiding my face, when Go Yohan called my name softly and said,
“If you act like that, it makes me want to torment you more.”
“Enough, just choose.”
“Let’s do Yusansul and Menbosha. It’s the same Chinese food, so it’s fine, right?”
“You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you?”
Go Yohan was truly a petty bastard. He was clearly teasing me, and I resented him so much that I glared at him, still biting my lip. Go Yohan then touched the tip of his sharp canine tooth with his tongue and looked me over strangely. My gaze was clearly higher, but why did it feel like Go Yohan was looking down at me?
My face was burning, but I stubbornly retorted. I gave a reason why Go Yohan was a petty bastard.
“I granted your birthday wish.”
“When did my wish change to that? Wasn’t my wish for you to have sex with me only in a wedding dress?”
“……Didn’t you, at one point, ask to… share… a room…?”
“You’re the one who suggested that. I didn’t necessarily need to.”
“……”
I want to kill him. Seriously.
“Then why did you ask me to combine rooms?”
“I didn’t ask to combine rooms. I asked to share a bed.”
My molars clenched automatically. This bastard, seriously. I felt like grabbing him by the collar and shaking him right then and there. But I couldn’t bring myself to act on the thought, fearing that it would hurt my pride more if he didn’t budge even when I shook him. I know myself too well, and that’s a real problem.
No matter which way I looked at it, it was clear I’d be the one feeling more wronged, so I could only fume without doing anything. Finally, Go Yohan, unable to suppress his laughter, started to tremble at one corner of his mouth.
“Jun.”
Then he grabbed me by the collar in one swift motion. I was going to grab him. Unlike the Go Yohan in my imagination who wouldn’t budge in my hands, I couldn’t resist Go Yohan’s light tug and fell forward. But it didn’t hurt. My eyes were tightly shut, so I couldn’t see anything, but a blue scent emanated from near my face, where warmth touched. It was a strange scent that even made the musty dust smell pleasant.
Slowly, I lifted my eyelids. At the same time, I felt a large hand embracing my back.
“Even this twisted me, you love, right, Jun?”
Go Yohan’s voice vibrated against my cheek. It was a funny story. Because the sound of his heart, reaching my ear, was getting faster and faster. I didn’t answer and closed my eyes again. Go Yohan’s chest surged up and down more strongly. It was absurd, but Go Yohan was nervous.
“You said I was worth loving.”
Honestly. I finally snorted.
“Yeah.”
My voice vibrated low against Go Yohan’s firm chest. The moment that vibration burrowed into Go Yohan’s flesh, his surging breath slowly calmed. I silently curled the corners of my lips. My breathing was calm, so why was my heart beating faster, Go Yohan?
But the annoying Go Yohan, contrary to his pounding heart, casually threw out words in a relaxed tone.
“But what to do, Jun?”
“What, you bastard?”
“I love Set C.”
“Let’s break up after eating jjamppong.”
At my brazen reply, Go Yohan stopped breathing for a moment. Then, his clearly broken breaths touched my cheek again. It was an emotion that made it impossible not to burst out laughing.
The part of my body with a bit of flesh was pressed against the soft fabric. My face must have looked funny. Nevertheless, I moved my neck and rubbed the bridge of my nose against Go Yohan’s chest. And secretly, I kissed his rapidly beating heart. Thanks to the layers of clothes, I probably wasn’t caught.
And lying on Go Yohan’s body, I looked at “Go Yohan’s ear, which Kang Soohyun said was ugly.” The cartilage of his right ear was stained red. A new mark now rested there. I stared at the silver piercing, then finally buried my flushed face in Go Yohan’s chest.
Go Yohan’s fingers stroked my hair.
“You really like it. Jun, you really have to acknowledge your bluff. What’s a piercing at my age?”
“You’re only twenty.”
“Twenty is grown up.”
“It suits you.”
Go Yohan, who had been snorting at my words, lightly patted my back twice with his palm. I squirmed in annoyance, then sighed deeply as I saw Go Yohan poking me again with his finger, urging me on, and lifted my foot. The gold anklet I was wearing near my ankle also brushed against my ankle and hung below my calf. Go Yohan smiled contentedly as soon as he saw it. And he rubbed my back so hard it felt hot.
Sometimes in life, you face unexpected challenges. For me, the unexpected challenge wasn’t “eating Chinese food on moving day,” but “eating soggy jjajangmyeon.”
The jjajangmyeon in front of me was exactly twice the thickness I usually knew.
“There’s too much.”
“It’s not too much; it’s soggy.”
“Can they sell this?”
“No, they can’t. If you get something like this, you should report it to the Consumer Protection Agency immediately.”
“Please stop teasing me.”
I glared at Go Yohan and stirred the contents of the bowl with my chopsticks. It was stiff and wouldn’t move. Was it noodles or rice cakes? I poked it a few times with my chopsticks, then lifted it, and it was indeed rice cakes.
“What are you looking at?”
I felt a gaze from beside me, and it was Go Yohan. He held a bowl of jjamppong in one hand, put some shriveled seafood into his mouth, and was now just quietly watching me furiously stir the jjajangmyeon.
“Want to swap?”
And he abruptly offered me his jjamppong.
A quick glance showed that the jjamppong, which at least had some broth, seemed to be in better shape. But what could I do? I was the one who chose to eat jjajangmyeon. I shook my head.
“You and I, it’s all the same.”
“Udon is better than rice cakes.”
“Just give me some broth.”
“Eat it all.”
“Do you want me to burst from eating too much?”
“Aren’t adult men supposed to handle two bowls easily?”
Was I not an adult man? Just as I was about to object, I recalled the school cafeteria, which was no better than a pigsty. I was unusually a picky eater. I had to admit it, so I had nothing to say. I moistened my lips with my tongue.
“I might not be able to eat it…”
I put my chopsticks into my clenched fist and furiously pounded the noodles. They were so clumpy that the sauce wouldn’t even mix. This was no joke; I really should report it to the Consumer Protection Agency.
“No, what on earth did they do to the dish to make it so stiff?”
I stuck a wooden chopstick between the noodles and pushed hard. As the noodles were crushed and mashed, my bowl and Go Yohan’s bowl collided. Red broth spilled over from bowl to bowl, and when the stiff noodles became a little moist, Go Yohan’s bowl naturally dropped away.
“See, I told you to eat mine.”
“Then what will you eat?”
“You.”
“……”
“Let’s put a little more meat on your thighs, okay?”
“I’m trying, too. I even ate snacks this morning.”
“What did you eat?”
“Three Couque D’Asse.”
“Good job. Very good job. Now you’ll become a pig soon after eating that. Our Jun.”
“I told you to stop teasing me.”
It wasn’t funny, but I burst out laughing. Or was it funny? It seemed I just liked Go Yohan.
