Summary
Diamond Dust Novel
“Dust, yet the dust of a diamond.”
During the winter of his third year in middle school, after a sudden tragedy struck his family, Yi Hyun moved to his grandfather’s small fishing village. He stayed there through high school, his only friend being his older cousin, Yi Han, and Yi Han’s girlfriend, Morae.
One rainy night, the three of them slip away from the village, leaving Hyeon’s father behind.
On the run and scraping by with day-labor jobs at a moving company, Hyeon unexpectedly crosses paths with someone from his past. Through that connection, he begins helping out at a gallery called Phantom, where he is introduced to a world he believed he would never touch:
the realm of Golden Alphas and Golden Omegas.
Rumors swirl about the gallery’s director: a blue-eyed Golden Alpha who “enchants people with pheromones to sell paintings.”
But instead of caring about the humiliating nonsense, the director has carved out Phantom’s reputation at breakneck speed with bold, unconventional moves.
To Hyeon, however, an outsider in every sense, the director offers only suspicion and coldness.
“Hey, temp.”
“Do you think I’m like that guy?”
“No one. There’s no one.”
At the director’s offhand remarks that seem to point straight at him, Hyeon feels something stir, emotions he thought had long since been cut away.
“About that… are you really not an Omega?”
The director, indifferent at times yet secretly asking about Hyeon when he isn’t around, leaves Hyeon increasingly unsettled.
And despite every explanation, he cannot seem to accept that Hyeon is a Beta.
“Your perfume… it’s really unusual.”
“You like my scent, don’t you?”
Entangled by paintings and pheromones, where will their intertwined past and future lead them?
