Desire Me If You Can Novel - Chapter 18
There was, at least, one thing he had gained. The fact that the person he was looking for was a woman. Though he couldn’t remember anything else, one thing was clear: he had seen an incredibly magnificent chest before collapsing. Unfortunately, he couldn’t recall the shape or size at all.
The problem was how to find her. Dominant Omegas could completely hide their pheromones, so they often posed as Betas. But if she released her pheromones and revealed her identity, Grayson would go into shock and faint again. Then the same result would just repeat itself.
Haa. Letting out a deep breath, he ruffled his hair violently. He had tried to take it easy, but having lost her right in front of his eyes twice, he could no longer afford to be relaxed. He had to find her. Hurry, quickly. But there was something more important than that.
What do I do so I don’t lose her again?
No answer came to mind. As his face twisted in frustration, something flashed through his mind.
Right, if it’s him…!!
Grayson immediately sped up. His supercar cut through the darkness, racing down the empty road.
“Darling.”
Tip-tap-tip-tap.
As soon as he entered the house, the cat came out to greet him as if it had been waiting. Dane readily picked up the creature, stroking its body gently and planting a kiss on the bridge of its nose. At this, the cat in his arms rubbed its face against his chest as if about to purr at any moment, bumping its small, cold nose against him.
“Wait, I’ll give you fresh water soon.”
As if understanding his words, Darling wagged its tail and let out a short meow. Leaving the cat, which had naturally climbed onto his shoulder, Dane began his post-work routine. After changing the litter and water and giving it a treat, the satisfied cat began grooming itself clumsily. Dane patted the cat lightly on the rump and headed for the bathroom. Now, it was his time.
“Phew.”
After finishing his shower, he sat on the sofa and drank a beer, and Darling approached as if on cue. The cat he had rescued from a fire scene was blind and deaf. Yet, it would always find Dane immediately, wherever he was, and lean against him like this.
Once again, Dane familiarly lifted the creature rubbing against his leg and placed it on his lap. Slowly stroking the cat, which settled in comfortably, he sank into a relaxed rest.
Suddenly, the absurd happening from a few hours ago came to mind.
That bastard is looking for me?
Did he realize he had fainted because of pheromone shock? He had never been caught before until now.
Things had become complicately tangled. If he had known beforehand, he wouldn’t have used his pheromones today. Ugh, Dane groaned.
“Why the hell was that crazy bastard standing there watching?”
He spat out a curse, but nothing changed. The probability of Miller remembering Dane when he woke up was fifty-fifty. If he found out…
Tsk. Clicking his tongue briefly, Dane thought with annoyance. In that case, he could just leave for another state again. There were plenty of places to go, and he was always ready to leave. With just one trunk, a cage with Darling inside—as long as he had his old car loaded with just these two things, he could go anywhere.
“Shall we sleep now, Darling?”
When he picked up the cat on his lap and stood up, the cat rubbed its head against Dane’s face as if it had been waiting. He climbed the stairs two or three at a time and headed for the bedroom. Darling took its place beside Dane, who got into bed as usual, and the two quickly fell asleep.
Keith Knight Pittman was in a very bad mood. Anyone would react the same way if they were forced to welcome an uninvited guest who broke the silence of the mansion while they were in a deep sleep, unable to kick them out. Releasing a thick, unpleasant pheromone from his entire body, he glared with a deep scowl at the face of the man sitting opposite him in the drawing room.
“Grayson Miller, do you know what time it is?”
“2 A.M.”
Grayson answered immediately and shamelessly. Keith’s eyebrow twitched violently once, but he soon closed his eyes with a sigh and rubbed his forehead.
“So, what is the reason for coming at this hour? I was sleeping.”
At this point, it would be normal for Grayson to grin uncharacteristically and spout nonsense. For example, saying the weather was nice, or that he suddenly thought of Keith.
But today he was different from usual. Above all, his coldly hardened face was proof. The fact that Grayson, who always wore a fake smile, was revealing his bare face like this was not a good sign.
“I have a question.”
“Speak. And get lost quickly.”
The last words came out as if chewed and spat. It sounded as if he were grinding his teeth, but Grayson asked without caring.
“Do you know how to find a Dominant Omega?”
“What?”
The wrinkles between Keith’s brows deepened further. At the gaze looking at him as if asking what kind of nonsense he was spouting appearing out of nowhere in the middle of the night, Grayson revealed his impatience by sweeping back his hair.
“There’s no one else to ask but you. So tell me, you know, don’t you?”
The commonality between Keith and Grayson was the fact that the people who gave birth to them shared the same trait. Just like the person Grayson was looking for, they were Dominant Omegas. However, the only one who could answer the question Grayson harbored right now was the Dominant Omega who gave birth to Keith, Angel. Unlike Coy, Angel disappeared frequently, and his Dominant Alphas, including Keith’s father, would find him and drag him back every time.
Until now, to Grayson, their behavior had been nothing more than an entertaining spectacle. After all, it was someone else’s story. But this time, it was different. Now that he was in that position, his impatience was unspeakable.
Looking at Grayson, Keith finally answered, still with a scowl.
“There is no such thing.”
The blood drained from Grayson’s face. Having ruthlessly crushed his only hope, Keith asked back sarcastically. His personality wasn’t great normally, but since his mood was at its worst right now, his words came out even more unfiltered.
“If you have a brain, why don’t you think about it? If there were such a thing, why would my fathers go through such trouble?”
It was so correct that there was no room for rebuttal. It was the only plan he could think of, but realizing it was futile, Grayson felt helpless for the first time. Seeing him close his eyes, tilt his head back, and let out a boiling sigh, Keith paused before adding.
“As you know, when a Dominant Omega gets excited during sex, spots appear above their pelvis.”
At the slow tone, Grayson looked at him. Why didn’t I think to look for that?
No, even if he had seen it, he wouldn’t have remembered. The only thing remaining in his head was the fact that her chest was incredibly enchanting. Grayson barely swallowed the sigh that flowed out automatically.
“Is there no way to trigger a heat cycle in a Dominant Omega?”
In any case, the only person to get information from was Keith. At Grayson’s question, Keith smirked and asked back.
“You need five Dominant Alphas. Can you manage that?”
Grayson frowned and shut his mouth, but Keith was nonchalant.
“Now you know why Angel has five Dominant Alphas.”
“Haa.”
This time, unable to hold it back, he let out a sigh. Rubbing his brow as if a headache were coming on, Grayson muttered to himself.
“It can’t be helped. I have no choice but to find out by having sex.”
“Not a bad method.”
Keith also agreed. Sleeping with anyone and everyone was exactly what Grayson had been doing until now, wasn’t it? He could release pheromones and potentially find his partner, so perhaps it was killing two birds with one stone.
“You were a big help. Thanks.”
When Grayson stood up readily and said his farewells, Keith grumbled with a frown.
“Don’t come as you please ever again. It’s a huge nuisance.”
Although he said this, Keith knew well. If Grayson had business again next time, he would barge in like this anytime. Sure enough, instead of saying he would comply, Grayson simply narrowed his eyes, gave him a strange smile, and looked at him.
Watching Grayson’s car leave the mansion from the window, Keith thought to himself.
Should I just go to the East?
