Desire Me If You Can Novel - Chapter 112
Their warm breaths mingled. Soon, their lips would meet. They both knew what was about to happen. Yet neither of them pulled away. In fact, just as they let out excited breaths, as if yearning desperately for that moment—
“Dane?”
A sudden voice calling his name caused them both to freeze. Dane immediately turned around. The warm body heat pressed against Grayson’s cheek also retreated. Grayson’s face twisted in frustration as he followed Dane’s gaze and then flinched. A face he hadn’t expected was there.
“Yeonwoo.”
Grayson’s eyes snapped to Dane at the sound of his muttered name. Utterly unable to grasp the situation, he watched Dane’s back as he walked toward Yeonwoo. Without hesitation. Without any explanation to Grayson.
Even though they had just been about to kiss.
Grayson was rooted to the spot, completely unable to comprehend the current turn of events.

“Dane.”
Yeonwoo smiled brightly at Dane, who was striding toward him. When Dane, walking with his usual slouch, stopped a couple of steps away, Yeonwoo finally spoke.
“It’s been a while, how have you been? I never expected to run into you here.”
“You, too. What brings you to a place like this?”
Yeonwoo was the partner of Keith Pittman, the owner of P Entertainment and a man of enormous wealth and power. For him to appear at this unremarkable shopping center was surprising. At Dane’s question, Yeonwoo smiled, the corners of his eyes crinkling.
“I came to buy this. I hear it’s quite popular these days.”
He conspicuously held up the shopping bag in his hand. Dane paused, looking at the unfamiliar logo, and Yeonwoo added an explanation.
“It’s from the dumpling shop on the corner. My younger brother told me about it, so I bought a lot for everyone to share. Would you like some? The batch I bought was the last one.”
Yeonwoo chattered cheerfully, pulling out a packaged box from the shopping bag and offering it to Dane. As Dane took it, Yeonwoo spoke as if he had just noticed something.
“You must have come to buy something for Darling.”
He was referring to the cat carrier Dane held in his other hand. Dane followed his gaze, then replied with an “Ah.”
“The old one tore. But why did you come yourself? Without sending someone else?”
At the perfectly sensible question, Yeonwoo blushed, looking slightly embarrassed.
“What’s wrong with shopping for myself? It’s nice to look around the stores and get some air……”
Dane’s eyes suddenly caught sight of several men in suits standing a few steps away from Yeonwoo. They were clearly Yeonwoo’s bodyguards. Yeonwoo continued speaking to Dane, who instantly looked bored.
“Are you all finished with your errands? Darling must be waiting for you. It’s been a while since I last saw him, is he doing well?”
“Eh, so-so.”
“That’s good to hear…….”
What the hell are those bastards doing?
Meanwhile, Grayson, watching them from a distance, just blinked in stunned disbelief. He was exasperated that such a perfect opportunity had been ruined in such an absurd way. He simply could not accept what was happening.
Why is Yeonwoo here? And why is Dane acting like this?
He didn’t understand the situation at all, but one thing was certain: he couldn’t leave Yeonwoo and Dane alone like that. Grayson wasted no more time and strode, almost running, toward them.
“So—”
“Hello, Yeonwoo. Long time no see, how have you been?”
Yeonwoo, who had been speaking and smiling, froze at the sudden interruption. Dane and Yeonwoo’s eyes simultaneously darted to the same spot. Grayson stood there, looking down at Yeonwoo with a wide, smiling face.
“Mr……. Mr. Miller? How are you here……”
Yeonwoo was visibly flustered, blinking his eyes. Dane immediately noticed the tension in him. Yeonwoo’s relaxed, smiling face from moments before was rigid, his complexion pale, and his voice was even faintly trembling.
But the man who was clearly the cause of this tension continued with a conspicuously fake smile.
“I’ve been with Dane this whole time. Didn’t you see me? I’m not exactly subtle.”
Ha ha! He laughed aloud. Of course, neither Dane nor Yeonwoo laughed. In fact, Grayson had no desire to laugh at all. The turmoil that had been brewing inside him was now on the verge of boiling over.
Seo Yeonwoo. Keith’s former secretary and now his partner.
Grayson had noticed the subtle friction between them even before they became a couple. Trained since childhood to recognize the thoughts of others and react accordingly, he could now read even hidden emotions they weren’t consciously aware of, without much effort.
This was true for Keith and Yeonwoo as well. He had figured out their feelings much faster than they had. Because of this, he had secretly watched with interest to see how long Keith would hold out. Though it took longer than expected, the conclusion was just as predicted. And now, they had become the most perfect couple… but—
What exactly is their relationship?
A deep crease appeared between Grayson’s brows. Everyone agreed that Yeonwoo was a considerable beauty. Enough to capture the attention of the notoriously promiscuous Keith Pittman.
He possessed an understated elegance that caught the eye, and his long, graceful neck was like that of a deer, provoking an impulse to sink one’s teeth into it. His gentle eyes and soft facial contours gave him a refined appearance, but when he let down his guard and smiled, he instantly transformed into a seductress.
Grayson had once thought that if Yeonwoo truly put his mind to it, there wasn’t a man he couldn’t conquer. Of course, Keith had scoffed at the time, but he must regret it now. Regret not making Yeonwoo his own sooner.
And his slender body, perfect for fitting snugly into Dane’s arms—could anything be more ideal?
The image of Dane holding Yeonwoo naturally flashed before his eyes. No, how can Yeonwoo’s body fit into Dane’s embrace as if it were tailor-made?
In that moment, Grayson couldn’t help but ask,
“How do you two—”
“You’ve been together? This whole time? No, you know Dane? Mr. Miller knows Dane?”
Almost simultaneously, but Yeonwoo was slightly faster with his questions. Dane spoke up for Grayson, who had momentarily paused.
“We work at the same fire station.”
“What? Oh…….”
Yeonwoo’s eyes grew even wider. He looked back and forth between Dane and Grayson, blinking disbelievingly.
“T-then, the person who was with Dane earlier was—”
“Yes, that was me.” Grayson answered proudly.
Yeonwoo was speechless again. He hadn’t fully looked earlier due to the distance and his focus on Dane. He certainly hadn’t imagined it would be someone he knew, but here they were.
My God, what is happening?
Feeling dizzy, he quickly fixed his gaze on Dane.
“Ah, um. Look, Dane. Speaking of Darling, I’d like to see him sometime. Can I drop by briefly? I felt bad about not seeing him when he was discharged from the hospital……”
He clearly wanted to end the situation somehow, but Dane couldn’t oblige. Scratching the back of his head with an embarrassed look, he said,
“That’s difficult. ……Um, well……”
After a short sigh, Dane summarized the situation concisely.
“There was a fire, and my house is gone. So I’m currently staying at Miller’s house.”
Yeonwoo’s eyes widened as much as they possibly could. Seeing that reaction, Grayson felt a little relieved, regaining some composure. That’s right, Yeonwoo. Dane is living with me right now. So you go back to Keith, quickly.
“Oh…… I see…… How could…… that happen…….”
Yeonwoo seemed severely shocked, stuttering repeatedly. Now, it was Grayson’s turn to ask about their relationship.
…Or so he thought, but no.
“How do you two know each other?”
This time, Dane cut him off. Yeonwoo answered on behalf of Grayson, who had slapped his forehead with one hand and let out a choked sigh of frustration.
“Well……. Mr. Miller is Keith’s friend……. so.”
“Ah, I see…….”
Dane finally understood. Well, they had the same secondary gender, so that made sense. They belonged to ‘their own league,’ literally.
“Well, Yeonwoo, I’ll see you later. I’ll enjoy the dumplings.”
Dane said, signaling that it was time to wrap things up. Yeonwoo quickly snapped out of it and agreed.
“Ah, yes. Then Dane, I’ll contact you.”
“Goodbye.”
“Bye.”
Yeonwoo said goodbye to Dane, gave Grayson a brief nod, and hurried away as if fleeing. Grayson glared discontentedly at the graceful figure practically running in the direction where his bodyguards were waiting.
Dane was the first to move. Grayson quickly followed behind him as he nonchalantly walked toward where the car was parked, finally able to ask the question he hadn’t been able to speak moments before.
“How do you two know each other?”
