Became a Failed Experimental Subject Novel - Prologue
“In the end, is this a failure?”
“…How much money did we pour into that thing?”
On the screen, a rampaging monster.
Those watching the creature, which had destroyed an entire research facility, sighed in disappointment.
“Laboratory 3 is to be decommissioned. Those incompetent fools, they couldn’t even properly adjust the dosage of the sleeping agent.”
“Is this the time to blame Laboratory 3? If only the command structure had been properly implemented, this is Laboratory 2’s fault.”
“So what if he is the first subject we’ve successfully synthesized? He won’t obey a single order!”
“Administer gas, lethal dose.”
As the researchers touched the control panel in the corner of the screen, colored smoke began to obscure the monster.
After inhaling a large amount of gas containing tranquilizers, the monster’s body gradually shrank, eventually collapsing into a human form.
A man, stained with green and blue monster blood, had a barcode-like marking on one side of his neck, with the letters CXI prominently displayed above it.
He was a test subject of this research institute.
“He still won’t die. His durability is remarkably close to the target…”
“But useless if he won’t obey. Let’s dispose of him simply, as before.”
“Combat data collection…tsk.”
The researchers, obscured by shadows, signed the electronic documents, issuing the decommission order.
Stamped large on the document was the word: FAILURE.
“Next up, W City.”
The man was a failed experiment.
