Alpha Trauma Novel - Chapter 14. Black Knight (5)
A chilly silence descended upon one corner of the living room. The atmosphere was so still that even rolling one’s eyes felt like being watched. Not only that, Wooyeon added, precisely and clearly articulating each word.
“And you have pheromones as tiny as an ant’s eyelash, yet you keep pouring them out, thinking they’ll sweeten things…”
“…W-what?”
The senior belatedly asked again. His eyes were blank, an expression that showed he never expected such words to come out. Wooyeon looked around with hazy eyes, then vigorously rubbed the corners of his eyes with the back of his hand.
“Stop being such a nuisance. You really live up to your name. When did we meet to keep saying ‘Wooyeon, Wooyeon’?”
“Hey… did you just say everything you wanted to say?”
“What are you going to do if I haven’t?”
Wooyeon glared defiantly. Though half his size, his spirit was thrice as strong. The senior’s face flushed with anger, his pride stung by being outdone by such a small person.
“What the f*ck are you saying right now? Hey, say it again. What did you say?”
“I said stop being a nuisance. Making me drink is already crappy enough, but why do you keep putting pheromones in the alcohol?”
His tone was full of grievance. His eyes were red, indicating how annoyed he was. It was partly from rubbing his eyes, but to others, he looked pitiful. At that, Dohyun chimed in with an indifferent voice.
“You put pheromones in it too?”
“Huh, how absurd…”
The senior was visibly flustered. He had indeed appealed with pheromones, but it was a small amount in the end. Since there had been no reaction, he had gradually increased it, but it seemed Wooyeon had known from the beginning.
“Alright, a little got in. Huh? He’s a dominant so he’s acting super sensitive, and yet he’s saying f*cking…”
“Sensitive? Did you just say “sensitive?”
Wooyeon, greatly provoked, suddenly stood up. The others around him also scrambled to their feet, ready to pounce, reacting with the sole intention of grabbing Wooyeon and evacuating him if necessary.
“Oh, really, what are you going to do if you stand up, huh?”
“Senior, that’s why people dislike you. If you know you’ve done wrong, you should know how to apologize.”
“Look at this bastard’s manner of speaking. Hey, you guys watch closely. He started it first.”
The senior rose from his seat with an angry face. He wasn’t very tall, but his physique was incomparable to Wooyeon’s. Dohyun, with no other choice, got up and completely blocked Wooyeon’s path.
“Stop it.”
Wooyeon, staggering, was blocked by Dohyun’s back. ‘What, move.’ Even with those words, Dohyun didn’t bat an eye. In the meantime, another senior quickly approached and supported Wooyeon.
“Why are you taking what a junior said while drunk so seriously? It’s not like this is the first time you’ve seen freshmen get drunk.”
“F*ck, is he drunk right now? He’s perfectly fine! Where is he hiding behind someone and…”
“That’s right, I’m not drunk.”
No sooner had the senior finished speaking than Wooyeon shook off the senior. He swayed his head, widened his eyes, and even pushed Dohyun aside. Dohyun, still calm, grabbed Wooyeon’s arm.
“Wooyeon.”
“…”
His ragged breathing could be felt. He was so angry that his omega pheromones were wildly fluctuating. Alphas, even other omegas, gasped at his overwhelming presence, all except Dohyun.
“Wooyeon.”
Dohyun again tried to calm Wooyeon. Should he use force to stop him? As he pondered this, Wooyeon’s lips slightly parted.
[F*ck.]
A clear voice pierced his ears. Dohyun blinked, unable to believe what he had heard. It was very simple English, so everyone else also had an expression of understanding.
“…Did that bastard just swear?”
Wooyeon messed up his hair and frowned. He seemed to have something to say, opening and closing his mouth, then shutting it again with a frustrated expression. Soon, Wooyeon, gathering his pheromones, began to speak fluent English.
“…”
“…”
The silence now was incomparable to before. Words that wouldn’t be heard in even advanced English listening classes burst out in a dazzling display. Half of it was curses, and half was something else entirely. Amidst it all, his pronunciation was amazingly perfect, as if listening to a native English professor’s lecture.
“W-what is he saying?”
The senior stammered, flustered. He wasn’t bad at English, but he couldn’t understand most of what Wooyeon was saying. It was partly because his pronunciation was too good, and partly because he was using unfamiliar words.
In the meantime, Wooyeon finished saying everything he wanted and smiled with a triumphant expression. His face, still pale, didn’t look like that of a drunk person. He gave the senior one last fierce glare and then strode out of the pension.
“…”
It was as if a typhoon had passed. Dohyun watched Wooyeon’s retreating back, absentmindedly lost in thought. Wooyeon’s words echoed in his ears. F*ck, and what not… a torrent of curses he had never heard before washed over him like waves.
“Huh.”
Unfortunately, he understood everything Wooyeon had said. The expertly recited curses. And even near-cursing insults. Literally translated, it was this:
[F*ck, you piece of shit. Eat shit and go to hell. Your face is messed up too…]
Wooyeon squatted in front of the wall and looked up at the sky. Perhaps it was because the air was clear, but there were so many stars, as if they were about to pour down. Wow, the moon is bright too. Thinking that, Wooyeon rubbed his eyelids.
“Don’t rub your eyes.”
A familiar voice stopped his action. And then, arms grabbed him and abruptly pulled him up. Wooyeon, standing helplessly on two feet, staggered and bumped his forehead against the shoulder in front of him.
“Ouch…”
“He’s drunk after all.”
Dohyun let out a hollow laugh and stood Wooyeon upright. He held his arm to steady him, firmly fixing his swaying body. But Wooyeon couldn’t stand on his own for even three seconds.
“I’m dizzy.”
He even grumbled and leaned his head into Dohyun’s embrace. Dohyun, who had stopped moving for a moment, let out an exasperated laugh. Dohyun tried to push Wooyeon away, but the small body couldn’t find its balance.
“Do you know where you’re leaning?”
“I do.”
“I don’t think you do.”
“I do.”
His soft breaths filled the quiet surroundings. Dohyun gave up pushing Wooyeon away and put his hands in his coat pockets. Even without his support, Wooyeon stubbornly kept his head leaned against him.
Time passed in silence. Unexpectedly, it was Dohyun who couldn’t bear the quiet.
“I said you don’t have to drink alcohol if you don’t want to.”
His voice was like a lament. It felt a little like a reproach too. Wooyeon, leaving all his excuses behind, stammered a reply.
“It’s my first time playing drinking games.”
“You have a lot of firsts.”
Dohyun turned his head away and sighed faintly. From his chest, where Wooyeon was leaning, a steady heartbeat could be heard. Soon, Dohyun muttered in a voice barely audible.
“Your pheromones are coming out.”
Wooyeon only then reacted to Dohyun’s words. He staggered upright, then swayed and fell against the wall. Dohyun, who caught the back of his head before he could hit it, frowned at the close distance.
“How much did they make him drink?”
He hesitated for a moment, then leaned Wooyeon back into his embrace. Then, he took a cigarette from his coat pocket and put it in his mouth. Click, click, with the sound of the lighter, an artificial pheromone scent wafted out.
“Kim Jinsang senior is angry.”
“…”
“He’s being a nuisance, just like his name.”
“…”
“Are you listening?”
Every time Dohyun spoke, a vibration could be felt in his neck. Wooyeon hummed a groan-like reply and wrapped his arms around Dohyun’s waist inside his coat. Dohyun neither hugged him nor pushed him away this time either.
“It’s cold.”
Wooyeon grumbled in a small voice. Then he raised his head to look at Dohyun, fixing his gaze on the cigarette in his mouth. Dohyun was still exhaling smoke, his head turned away.
“So?”
Wow, he’s incredibly sexy.
His prominent jawline drew attention. Every time he held in smoke, his neck area moved subtly. The smoke coming from his well-shaped lips also looked chillingly erotic.
“You’re the only one wearing a padded jacket.”
Wooyeon muttered his complaints. As he buried his face in Dohyun’s warm neck, Dohyun took another drag from his cigarette. ‘How unfair…’ To his next words, an unexpected reply came back.
“Don’t get angry tomorrow.”
Thud, the long cigarette fell. Dohyun stomped out the embers with one foot and let out a short breath. He put his hands back in his coat pockets and wrapped his arms around Wooyeon’s body as if to embrace him.
“…”
Warmth mixed with faint pheromones. The scent on his clothes and neck was Dohyun’s unique dry pheromone. As Wooyeon squirmed closer into his embrace, Dohyun whispered.
“Feeling better?”
Better than ever. His face was burning as if it had never been cold. His heart thumped, and pheromones surged out.
Dohyun held his head stiffly and muttered in a breathless voice.
“You shouldn’t drink alcohol.”
“Why?”
“It’s just one of those things.”
Wooyeon didn’t press further and closed his eyes. Blink, blink, every time his vision closed, sleepiness gently crept in. Teacher, I’m sleepy. He wanted to say that, but his hazy mind wouldn’t obey.
“Senior.”
Instead, another appellation escaped his lips. It was a slightly awkward, yet familiar, title. Dohyun’s broad chest slightly heaved, as if Wooyeon’s squirming was tickling him.
“Senior, are you a playboy?”
“What?”
Dohyun let out a hollow laugh and lowered his head. The round head was still firmly attached to his neck. A perplexed smile appeared on Dohyun’s lips.
“How did you reach that conclusion?”
“They said if you only have a double eyelid on one side, you’re a playboy.”
Wooyeon raised his head and looked at Dohyun’s left eye. It was the only side with a double eyelid on his gently curved eye. Dohyun stared intently into Wooyeon’s eyes and replied evenly.
“That’s unfair. I haven’t even had a chance to be a playboy yet.”
It felt as if a gaze was caressing his face. Eyes, nose, mouth. And then eyes again. After scrutinizing Wooyeon in detail, he slightly lowered his head. Wooyeon was still tightly hugging Dohyun’s waist.
“Sleepy?”
A low voice asked Wooyeon. Wooyeon closed his eyes instead of answering yes. Only after he collapsed into sleep did Dohyun properly embrace him.
