Alpha Trauma Novel (Completed) - Chapter 109. Side Story 11. The Outsider (1)
Summer vacation ended. Wooyeon, who had been staying at Dohyun’s house throughout the vacation, got his own place as soon as the new semester began. It was an officetel with large windows letting in sunlight and an interior spacious enough to run around in. It felt a bit too luxurious to be called a ‘studio apartment,’ but Wooyeon thought it was more ordinary than his previous penthouse.
Dohyun expressed fleeting regret about Wooyeon moving out. He had become overly accustomed to the daily routine of seeing Wooyeon morning and night. After trying to hold Wooyeon back a few times, he realized that the new officetel required an access card even to press the elevator button, and he gave up. He seemed to have decided that the officetel would be safer than his own apartment, no matter what.
Anyway, Wooyeon moved out, and the time he spent with Dohyun decreased. Dohyun visited every day, but it was far less than when they had practically lived together. Wooyeon, who was feeling increasingly empty, began to suffer from an even more extreme thirst starting a week ago.
“…Do you have to go right away today too?”
Wooyeon sat in the passenger seat of the car, fiddling with his seatbelt. Dohyun, who had no afternoon classes, had waited for Wooyeon’s classes to end and driven him home. The newly built officetel’s underground parking lot was inaccessible to unregistered vehicles.
“Yeah, she’s probably waiting.”
Even as he replied, Dohyun had a very reluctant expression. To be precise, he seemed reluctant to part with Wooyeon. He furrowed his neat brow, let out a shallow sigh, and reached out a hand towards Wooyeon.
“Sorry, I’ll persuade her to leave quickly.”
His long fingers traced the delicate skin under Wooyeon’s eyes. As Wooyeon instinctively squinted, Dohyun’s eyes softened. He gently held Wooyeon’s head and turned to meet his lips.
Kiss, his lips lightly separated and repeated the same action a couple of times. Kiss, kiss, despite the ticklish sensation, Wooyeon’s expression showed no sign of brightening. Seeing his sullen, downcast face, Dohyun deepened the kiss a little more. The two eyes visible up close were full of an inexplicable desire.
“…Should I not go?”
Only then did Wooyeon let out a silly laugh. It was because he thought he had been too childish, given that both of them were reluctant. Wooyeon rubbed his face against Dohyun’s hand and obediently lowered his eyes.
“I’ll just bear it a little longer…”
The reason they were exchanging such heartfelt goodbyes, like long-distance lovers, was one: because of the outsider who had been staying at Dohyun’s house for several days. Well, to be precise, she wasn’t an outsider but his family.
“Jinahh will give up soon too.”
The outsider’s identity was Dohyun’s younger sister, four years his junior. Her name was Kim Jinahh, and her type was Beta. She had always followed Dohyun well since childhood and was currently staying at Dohyun’s house without permission. The reason was a quarrel with their parents. According to Dohyun, it happened occasionally.
“Go in safely. Contact me when you get home, okay?”
“Yes, you too, Hyung.”
Wooyeon got out of the car, hiding his deep disappointment. Before getting out of the car, he didn’t forget to rub his lips against Dohyun’s once more. Their pheromones intertwined stickily, but both pulled their lips apart before the act could become more intense.
Dohyun’s car didn’t leave until Wooyeon disappeared from sight. Wooyeon scanned his access card at the entrance and sighed as he got into the elevator. His right hand habitually fiddled with the watch on his left wrist.
‘I shouldn’t have looked for a place…’
It was a decision made out of guilt for always imposing and being wary of Soohyang. If he had known this, he would have just stayed at Dohyun’s house. Then, Dohyun’s sister, Jinahh, wouldn’t have been away from home for so long either.
Wooyeon bit his lip as he watched the elevator numbers go up one by one. He was already starting to miss Dohyun, whom he had just parted with. If it was just that their meetings had become shorter, that would be one thing, but the last time they had any skinship beyond kissing was several weeks ago.
‘Those were the good old days.’
Recalling that time, his ears automatically turned red. It was the day Dohyun brought a cake to celebrate their 100th day, just before the new semester began. Wooyeon, who had no concept of celebrating anniversaries, greeted Dohyun without having prepared anything.
‘What’s all this?’
‘It’s our 100th day today.’
“Do you count days?” Wooyeon wanted to ask, but there was something that bothered him. When Daniel came to Korea, he had proudly recited the very dates he had been counting. He hadn’t meant to suggest celebrating anniversaries. Just as he was about to correct himself, Dohyun spoke in a gentle voice, “Let’s go on a trip somewhere nearby tomorrow.”
“…”
His feeling of apology vanished. Instead, what swelled up was anticipation for the trip. As Wooyeon’s face flushed, Dohyun smiled brightly.
“You’ll eat cake, right?”
As a result, they couldn’t go on the trip. It was because their eyes met while eating the strawberry-topped cake. The act, which began at the dining table without even going to the bed, didn’t stop until dawn broke. Wooyeon lost consciousness in Dohyun’s arms, covered in whipped cream and bodily fluids, as Dohyun washed him.
Although he always collapsed first, the act with Dohyun was always satisfying. His dry, fallen-leaf-like pheromones would heat up, and his jet-black eyes would be covered with passion. It was the only moment when the usually composed Dohyun lost his composure. The surging satisfaction and the pleasure that felt like his brain was being kneaded were utterly unforgettable.
“I miss Teacher…”
He hadn’t known, but he, who had lived his whole life without sexual desire, seemed to be quite a vigorous Omega after all. Seeing his lower abdomen ache at the thought of Dohyun, even though it wasn’t his heat cycle. His large hands and firm upper body vividly came to mind.
It was sexual frustration.
One day, two days, three days. Time flowed as slowly as a turtle. Wooyeon, who longed for Dohyun every night, eventually had an embarrassing dream and even masturbated with his own hand. Garam fussed over Wooyeon, who came to school with dark circles under his eyes, asking what on earth was wrong. When asked if something was going on with Kim Dohyun, Wooyeon couldn’t hide his sullenness. He desperately wished something would happen.
“Hyung Dohyun didn’t come to school today?”
“Oh, it’s his day off.”
“He used to come to see Wooyeon even on his days off.”
He heard Garam and Seongyu whispering. Wooyeon recalled the message he had received from Dohyun that morning.
Hyung: [Sorry, I don’t think I can pick you up today because of my sister.] 07:32 am
Picking him up aside, Wooyeon also had a day off starting tomorrow. That meant he wouldn’t see Dohyun until Monday. He was already going crazy, and now he wouldn’t see him for three more days. The tteokbokki he was holding with chopsticks was miserably crushed.
Even during his afternoon lecture, Wooyeon’s mind was filled only with Dohyun. He took out his phone to check and saw that the “read” notification for the “It’s okay” message he sent that morning hadn’t appeared. “Hyung, I miss you.” He wrote and deleted that message dozens of times. In the end, he couldn’t send it, the lecture ended, and he came to his senses to find himself in Yoon Driver’s car.
“Haa.”
It was only three days. Today is almost over, so “only” three days from tomorrow. He hadn’t seen him for four years at one point, so not seeing him for three days shouldn’t be a big deal.
Yet, Wooyeon threw himself onto the bed as soon as he got home. He missed Dohyun so much that he felt like he was going crazy from thirst. He pulled the white fennec fox doll into his arms, but his thirst wasn’t quenched at all.
[Hyung, I miss you] 06:00 pm
Finally, Wooyeon picked up his phone and sent a message to Dohyun. Surprisingly, the “read” notification appeared immediately. Wooyeon sprang up from the bed and sat politely on his knees. The doll he had been hugging was now rolling on the blanket.
“…”
However, no reply came even after several minutes. One minute, two minutes, five minutes. Even after ten minutes, it was the same. Wooyeon blinked and sent one more message.
[Hyung?] 06:11 pm
“…”
Dohyun disappeared. Without any reply to the read message. Wooyeon irritably put down his phone, the “read” notification still clearly visible.
The next day, Wooyeon woke up early and checked his phone for missed calls. It was a call that came late in the evening, and the caller was Dohyun. Wooyeon got out of bed as if he would fall and touched the missed call record. After a few rings, a familiar voice was heard from the other end of the line.
—…Hello?
“Hyung!”
—Yes, Yeon-ah.
A gentle voice wrapped around his ears. It was Dohyun’s unique tenderness, softness and kindness. Wow, he’s really the teacher. Wooyeon was overwhelmed with emotion and let his eyebrows droop into an inverted V.
“Hyung… I went to bed early yesterday, so I couldn’t answer the phone…”
—You did?
If he had known the call would come, he would have waited until late at night. Strictly speaking, he went to bed early because Dohyun ignored his message, but he didn’t remember that fact at all. He just felt increasingly restless listening to the disembodied voice.
“I miss you…”
His voice came out whiny. When dealing with Dohyun, a childishness Wooyeon didn’t even know he possessed would pop out. It was because he knew Dohyun didn’t dislike it or find it annoying.
—…Yes, I miss you too.
Wooyeon thought the reason his voice was subdued was because he missed him. He didn’t realize that it had been like that since he answered the phone because he was too happy. Focusing on the quiet breathing, Wooyeon subtly asked Dohyun, “Is your sister still at home?”
—Hmm…
It wasn’t a difficult question, but the answer was excessively slow. Wooyeon felt unnecessarily nervous, waiting for Dohyun’s reply. He made a sound that was neither a sigh nor a laugh, and then softly replied, “I think she went home.”
“…”
If she went, she went, and if she didn’t, she didn’t; why would he make a guess instead of a confirmation? He thought she was still at home, but did she go out without a word?
“What’s that supposed to mean…”
—Yeon-ah.
“…”
Wooyeon gasped, inhaling sharply. The voice coming through the phone was too stimulating. His heart pounded, and his face turned red. Whether Dohyun knew this or not, he whispered in a soft, captivating voice, “Do you want to come to my place now?”
